Great stuff and just the extra kick to enhance a great mech. This could be done for all the mechs and not a single person would protest!

Love it...thanks. can we have similiar for the Warhammer and Marauder please? Maybe a succession wars story for each mech and then one based on the hero variant.
Long live this partnership between PGI catalyst and harebrained

Thanks for this. We've been missing the lore and backstories for a long time, and this is much appreciated.

An online (or even downloadable pdf) Technical Readout for MWO with all the mechs' arts (why not all the mech's orthos too?), variants and hero fluffs would be terrific. I miss a detailed, updated and dedicated wikia for MWO.

I always thought of armor value as the thickness of the armor placed upon the component similar to a tank. Then as it takes damage it gets more and more compromised until it is eventually not combat effective. Oh well.

I don't see how the fall damage is enough to knock out the leg though, it still has 11 points of structure after the alpha and even if you perform a failed jump jet maneuver and crash I think the highest damage is what 10 points? Well even if the leg is taken off the mech can still fight from the ground. Gray was fairly close to the Victor so there was no reason to stop fighting. The only plausible explanation is that the Victor pilot was knocked unconscious from the crash and that is what ended the fight.

In TT, if you take 1 damage in the internal structure, you roll for the number of critical hits. If you roll 6 + 6, the leg or arm is imediatly destroyed.

This was amazing. :D Great story... too bad he died in such an odd way, found in a office with his neck snapped...

So, 2 things to point out:
Legend Killer Hero Mech confirmed?
Lostech Special rare weapons confirmed? That would be epic...

That would be cool... experimental weapons much more expensive or earned in tournaments (not bought by MC, because they would work differently than regular weapons).

as I said in another thread, this little story snippet highlights everything that's wrong with BT fiction.

I did not read all the comments to this so forgive me if it was addressed. I saw a couple times in here complaints about a 28 point alpha destroying a leg. It was well into a duel between two ace mechwarriors. The story was the last 30 seconds or so of the fight. That leg could have been hit a dozen times for all we know. As for the match ending when he was legged, the Solaris fights were not to the death. If you disabled the enemy you won.

Now just say thank you for someone putting in a little more effort than "Here is a new mech come buy it". Good job PGI and its nice to see that the various Battletech IP owners are starting to work together.

except it's not DoA. also, FYI, the clan "laser meta" only works if you guys can maintain range. Clan pilots currently have horrible heat efficiency, it's how we Steiners are plowing into the Falcons right now. taking advantage of that. the Rifleman will be a solid heavy, like the Jager is. Frankly, comparing any heavy to the Timberwolf is stupid, it's a frigging TIMBERWOLF. I mean, the IS made OmniMech BASED off it got a bad rap because it's not the Timberwolf, not because it sucked as a heavy. the Rakshasa was actually an incredibly GOOD heavy. it just wasn't the Timber.

so stop setting the bar so high.

Imagine MWO with BattleTech's rich history added at every opportunity ... instead of just once, for one Mech, as part of a one-off sales effort.

Russ stated on twitter that there will be an overhaul to the website - I'm hoping they will add some fluff, especially now that Catalyst backs them for lore.

Good, the website is abysmal x3

Yeah, thus partnership with Catalyst and HBS is gonna be great for everyone involved n.n I think good times are ahead for Battletech fans...

For those of you asking for more stuff like this, I wrote a transverse Battletech (based off of MWO) short story recently. Take a look if you got the time: http://mwomercs.com/...of-money-power/

Well, it makes us different that we're mercenaries with omnimechs. Lore-wise, it would explain how we could trailblazer down to Terra. At the end of the day, it was meant to be an entertaining fiction explaining what PGI allowed [-MS-] to do in CW in a way more consistent with BattleTech.

well, i kinda meant that more as make sure to deal with the douchebags in your ranks. the fact you could blaze to terra is more the fact CW needs front warfare so that kind of leapfrogging can't happen ;)

Yeah. It's irritating to everyone when someone in [-MS-] fails to show players due respect. We do reprimand that behavior, and I assure you that most guys in [-MS-] are friendly human beings wanting to have fun in a game.

As for the state of CW, we agree that many aspects of that mode are fundamentally broken.
