I don't know which currency you're using there Mcgral, but the game is USD 59.99 on Steam, and GBP 39.99 on greenmangaming.

Add 25% to USD for Canucks.

Yeah, that's really not what "money grab" means. A money grab is to extend minimal effort in order to produce something shiny that will make people give you money - it doesn't have to have any redeeming qualities but being shiny.

Think 'mech packs. Those are money grabs. You get nothing but a new look for your hero - no content, just shiny pixels. All for the low, low price of a complete game.

well, I call that "money steal" not grab :D

Bethesda games, for all their traditional day-one bugs, really do not fit the "minimal effort" bill, nor are they just eye-pleasers. You do get a full triple-A game's worth of content for the price of a triple-A game.

A full game? What is this.. not MWO?

;)

Seriously though, sometimes I wonder why we're buying into "more money for less content" instead of "less money for more content".

Having many mechs, and still have a game that hasn't really evolved since Closed/Open Beta... that's the tragedy here.

I'm not even sure if I will ever play that thing. I'm a Fallout bittervet. Hate what Beth did to the franchise in F3 (New Vegas wasn't made by Beth). Maybe later. All depends if they will manage to make a decent plot/setting/characters. They are completely unreliable in that matter, like they outsource it to random companies or something.

Morrowind had a great world/plot, empty in microscale, but fascinating in macroscale.
Oblivion - plain dumb and naive
Fallout 3 - plain dumb and naive
Skyrim - some of it not bad (the main storyline, at least that part I played through), some very good (civil war), some plain dumb and naive (dawnguard plot was outright stupid).

Also I have no idea why would anyone want to pay money for an unfinished product*. DLC issue aside, I'm 100% sure the release version is filled with bugs. They've never fully patched Skyrim after all these years, just make it mostly playable and finishable.

People are too fast to jump on the hype train driven by a bunch of dedicated fanboys and PR professionals. It's so dumb it's not even funny.

---------
*Please don't compare it to MWO. Here I paid ~12 bucks for over a half a year of entertainment. And I did it after I played for some time and decided it's worth it. Mechpacks are not my thing, I'm a patient person (with a thin wallet :( )

This is just about my opinion of any of Bethesda's open world games since Oblivion and Fallout 3. So boring and empty feeling, I don't know why people love these games so much.

Probably will pick it up during/after the holidays. Still only half way through Witcher 3 and I have like 90 games backlogged. =P

Been playing FO4 since Monday @ 1.15pm EST.

Is it fun? Yes!

Will it consume some of my tine? Sure will!

Will MWO fall to the wayside? Only for a day or two.

Now, excuse me, just found a Missile Command holotape, must play...

I didn't download and just ordered a hard copy. It was shipped so if I don't see it today chances are thursday being Veterans day is tomorrow and all those not vets need the day off to celebrate. If it really were veterans day only Vets should get the day off.

Haters...haters never change.

Anyway, I'll pick it up in a day or so on Steam. It will be a time vampire, but hey, what big open world game isn't?

It will cut into my MWO time, but I have been allocating far less time to MWO anyway (I still haven't finished the basics on my Crabs and Wolfhounds and they are all I have been playing). It's time for Fallout 4, maybe Metal Gear, and I have been having fun revisiting GTA:V too.

Bummer too, I just bought a new computer that finally plays MWO really well. Oh well *shrug*.

I have good memories playing FO2,Tactics,and New Vegas. The original FO3 by Bethesda, not so much....

But anyway, I'm glad Beth took the IP because of this:

FO4 is nothing short of spectacular.

By the time I get back to MWO I'm sure they'll have fixed the issues that have driven me away with a refund for the MAD and WHM [/sarcasm]

Have not bought it yet, will probably. Just waiting for a buddy of mine to give me some feedback. Although, with all the CHOICES you have in that game it will be a nobrainer i guess. Because i want to CHOOSE what i play and how i play as games should entertain me and not limit my CHOICES.

Either you don't remember 1992 very well or you're just really big on hyperbole. Screenshot nostalgia from 1960? What does that even mean? Computers were literally the size of half a room in 1960. There were no screenshots, most of them were using punch cards.

Anyway, I'm waiting on FO4, probably either for pay day or my birthday later this month. Depends on my patience level.

Im pretty sure this is the whole reason for the voting system. Big games comming out this and next month and the game is going to be hurting for more player even more. Id rather have immediate psr mixing than hours of the same map.

Well, PGI could have chosen to not piss off their players.

I have dozens upon dozens of games in Steam I haven't yet played. One more would hardly make a difference.

MWO is a quick and dirty way to relieve some stress after a hard day of work. In 15 minutes you can typically boot it up, find a match and go through it. A bit like WOT, I guess, but with less pay to win.

Big games? Dark Souls 3 doesn't come out until next spring... and Street Fighter V next winter sometime in February. Unless you're thinking Elite Dangerous: Horizons... but Elite has been out for almost a year now.

Not much else of interest I can think about this year.
