Stop Standing Behind Your Teammates!

It's rare for me to see a player just standing there butt grinding a mech... More often than not they're they are trying to get the hell out of your way but if you are backing up and they are backing up the ability to get off you hip is that much more difficult.
Now a player using you as a meat shield... That's a different discussion.

The "RED" Teamed called! They were looking for some more arseholes. Your name immediately came up...

The "RED" Team called back. You sound like a good fit for them as well.

That's actually a really smart way to play, provided you can both shoot at the same target.
Works best for me when dropping as a group. In solo there little initiative to keep you teammate alive. They see you poking around them and you instantly are viewed as a douche. Nevermind the fact you're drawing fire off them as well as compounding force strength at the point of attack.

Off topic a little, but I use advanced zoom any time I can. I like to hit the baddies in the face...if I can get a 200m shot off have time to take careful aim, I do it. And once, while doing just that, I pulled the 2x AC20 triggers on my king crab and...nothing happened except a thing that said makenzie71 just killed a teammate. Because, while I'm aiming, a spider decides to park on my right to snipe at someone and a "something"...I don't remember what...was doing the same on my left. Spider didn't survive and both of them were pissed at me because they managed to walk in front of my guns and just stay there.
So yeah...I totally get that people need to keep in mind just how wide some them are...but so does everyone else. Bringing it a little close to the topic at hand, these maps are big. There's no excuse for crowding.

And a really good reason to ban them.

Yes, in fact, that's what I expect of my teammates when I play a Heavy or Assault, and how I try to play when I'm using Mediums (or some Heavies) - unfortunately, when many players say "meat shield," they really mean "decoy."

Please don't use advanced zoom at 200m, it actually is not helping your gameplay at all I promise you.

200 was just a number I pulled from the ether. I use it as close as I can while still getting convergence.
Actually if you are using 2xAC20, you probably don't need to have advanced zoom equipped at all. They are not sniping weapons...

Are you running ERLL and AC20 on your KGC? It seems like that build doesn't have very much synergy with it's weapons. AC20 pairs well with Large Pulse Lasers. Gauss pairs well with ERLL.
Also, if you have time to aim you should still try to aim as quickly as possible to get your shot off and either hide or get ready to shoot again. It doesn't help if you are taking an additional 2 or 3 seconds to aim for a perfect shot.
Sorry if I'm coming off as a condescending jerk. I'm legitimately trying to help here.

It suits my playstyle to run the ER and the AC20's. I'm not willing to give up the ammo to run the LPL's but I'm often needing something with more range than the AC20's. Alpine gets pretty hard on a crab when you have to cross so much open ground to get to <300m. And, on maps like Tourmaline, the KGC is actually a really good sniper with the top-mounted lasers over that varied terrain.

Typically, jack of all trades types of builds don't perform very well vs builds that have dedicated ranges. I get that you want weapons that can fight at all ranges, but in reality that just makes you less effective at all ranges. I'd recommend swapping your AC20s for Gauss and you will likely find a lot more success. Gauss are actually not terrible at close range either, there is a reason why Gauss builds are incredibly popular nowadays.
