Wow have not seen you around in awhile. :o

I has been extremely busy. I'm working on opening my own startup and took a new position at my "real" job that just didn't leave me any time for gaming and internet rabble rousing. lol

I'll hopefully be getting my feet wet again in MWO either this weekend or start of next week.

Well good luck on the startup.

Hopefully you will enjoy your return to MWO. Obviously the more things change here the more they stay the same with regard to the Devs decision making and player reaction be they good or bad.

lol I've been perusing Reddit and I've lurked on forums to keep semi-current. I can't comment on game balance yet since I haven't played but it seems like PGI, MWO, and the Community are still chugging along. I am a bit disappointed that MWO hasn't advanced as far as I thought it might.

My good friend makes custom spearguns the old fashioned way. He has a spearfishing store but specializes in making them by hand. You should check it out http://www.sturgillspearfishing.com. He has probably one of the only spearfishing museums in the world at his shop that he continues to add pieces to. Pretty cool stuff.

I'll check it out. Got a guy up in Puerto Vallarta doing customs teak railguns, was going to see if I could afford one, but I'll check this out too. Right now I just use some pretty basic tube guns. Great for red snapper and parrotfish....but a serious rail gun might be what I want for our bigger yellowfin tuna, wahoo and dorados.

Good point, are you going to acknowledge the fact the 50% of the people with their heads shoved up "that place" are there because they were kissing PGIs glutes so hard that their heads got sucked up there?

I've always been on record that people cleaving to either extreme (PGI can do no wrong OR PGI is always wrong, always out to get you) are idiots.

That's it, I was fine with taking the "Ease back in and get a feel for things" approach, but this shall not stand! I challenge Csand to one of those Trial of Ownership and Give me all your stuff things the clans are always going on about for DaZur!

Do you folks have reading comprehension issues or are you simply being obtuse?

Go back and re-read my OP and any follow-ups. Nowhere have I inferred anyone should be denied the right and luxury of stating plainly their quarrels with MWO or for that matter PGI...

What I do take umbrage to is idle threats to "take their toys and go play a different game" in lieu of getting their way in regards to any number of complaint.

It's pretty flipping amazing how folks can read this thread and in their heads twist it into something it's not in order to vilify?

Your OP basically said, leave so I don't have to read complaints.

At no point did you mention people threatening to leave over something.

If any of this really bothered you, you wouldn't read them. But lets face it, just like the people you are talking about, you actually enjoy this sort of thing. I'll admit, it's a great time killer.

Since I actually know people who make games for a living (I work for EA), I'm of the opinion that games are hard to make (just in general) and working with someone else's license is expensive by default. Sure there are problems (lots of problems), and some bad decisions have been made, but given MWO's limited audience, the licensing overhead such a venerable IP involves, and the complex legal nature of the battletech IP (*cough*harmonytroll*cough*) Piranha hasn't done that bad a job.

I mean, AC rounds look like they have weight when they hit you. PPCs don't look like they belong in a sports dome batting cage. Lasers don't fire G.I. Joe bullets. LRMs can be used indirectly, and "new coat of paint" and "death by reactor explosion" are not binary states of being. They got quite a bit of stuff right.

Fully agree here....but what about the the end game or CW part of the game? I have had great enjoyment from EA titles BF being my favorite all time game. So I am interested in your take on MWOs end game or what reasons you see to even play this game?

There's a HUGE difference in feedback and just trolling the forums posting "I quit" 1-2 times a week. That's not an exaggeration, that's factual. There were literally people who did next to nothing on these forums or in the community other than saying "PGI sucks, I quit", only to continue playing
for years
and spending money
for years

Feedback (positive and negative) is great, trolling around on the forums to be one of the "cool" kids and go full hipster mode of "I played before it was cool" and trash a game, company, players, community, etc. is not feedback. It's being an immature troll who offers nothing productive (be that negative or positive) to the game, community, or experience.

I'm getting all misty eyed watching you two ensconced in some semi-erotic trial of ownership... At least I hope those are tears in my eyes. With you two waving your myomere bundles around I fear for the latter.

cSand? Sandpit? Coincidence I think not!

I agree with all this.

The OP is pretty much just trolling, not feedback either tho, and he should know better beacuse he knows the type of person it is adressed to.

Which I can't even agree with due to the fact I can just not read a post, but I can't drop unless countless other people are in the que.

El Bandito: "You are exaggerating as usual. "

Nope. 75% of my drops are Cold Skirmish. Math incoming: 30 of 40 is 3/4ths, which is 75%

But I see your MO now - attack the person with false assertions.

And my point remains: if the Skirmish crowd was forced to drop 30 of 40 matches on Terra Therma Conquest, they would be picketing outside Russ's house. So its a bit hypocritical of you guys to be complaining about "whiners", especially after your recent tantrum killed the PTS laser changes.

Honestly.. at this point in the game's life... I think just telling people off is more likely to make it more permanent than a temporary break.

People will play other games, but there's a point of no return when progress isn't reaching a certain level... whether it is patience, quality, or just incompetence.. it won't take much due to PGI's historical progress.

There's more value in other games... with probably the same dev size, and yet more progress.

You can lay out the various excuses that PGI has admitted on their own... but the thing is that actions speak more louder than words. Those words from PGI are really meaningless.. so it is what it is.

I'm kinda already planning a more permanent vacations because of PGI's own Steam launch date. Noone is setting up that deadline other than PGI. In the same breath, noone is going to convince others from playing or not playing this game... it's just going to be the same messages PGI has ignored from the beginning. Nothing really new... just like the game.
