Since my thread got derailed - mod: Sorry folks, but some of you crossed the unconstructive line, so here you are - lets try this again:

So sick and tired of Cold Skirmish.
Skirmish HPG
Skirmish Frozen
Skirmish HPG
Skirmish HPG
Skirmish HPG
Skirmish Frozen
Skirmish Frozen
Skirmish Alpine
Skirmish Frozen
Skirmish HPG
Skirmish HPG
Skirmish HPG
Skirmish HPG
Skirmish HPG
Skirmish HPG
Skirmish Frozen

So here's notice that I'm no longer playing it. Don't complain, Skirmish pilots routinely ignore objectives in Assault and Conquest too and just play skirmish anyway. So fair is fair.

I'll be exploring the map, or testing how hard it is to get behind Red Team undetected, or counting red sportscars in the city terrain, or anything other than the vanilla MWO Easy Mode the majority wants to play.

This is NOT non-participation, I will still be moving and locking targets and shooting at red team. Maybe I'll do assassination missions - get in, kill the assigned target, and get out alive. Or maybe I'll practice elaborate flanking maneuvers for endgame hide n seek. Who knows.

Anyways, don't bother yelling at me for not teaming or caring about your plan. No, I'm not scouting the saddle for you. No, I don't care your assault is getting wolfpacked. I'm tired of being forced to play a mode that bores me, especially one that is 60+ % of my drops. I'm in a Light mech anyway, so you don't really need me.

I'll be hunting down pretty flowers. I hear there is rare orchid that only grows on Tourmaline.

Also, a great bar on Alpine that makes the best wings ever. Think I'll check it out.

Cheers
Fen

Honestly, could you just stop playing period, instead?

Being a Terribad on purpose isn't helping anyone.

Eh, see what other odd objectives you can reach, such as 12-assists in 1 battle, or adding to the headshot score. Gotta find something to do other than meet in the center and smash into each other like derps.

I agree with the OP the map vote system is the worst idea PGI has ever had and it results in 90% same game mode skirmish no matter what other game mode you vote for and 60% the same maps over and over all day and night long.

Unless PGI does a hot fix and make all maps and game modes a random choice or bring back the old MM system I personally will not play MWO and I suggest everyone else stop playing and paying into MWO until it is fixed one way or the other.

That's constructive, thanks. I've already done the 12 assist thing. Maybe I'll grind for the "Bad Company" tag, its really hard to get below 20% in an IS light without dying.

I think the assassination missions will make it more interesting.

But any other ideas to break up the boredom are appreciated.

Funny thing is he is describing some of the things I would do in a Light.
Except in my case, I am looking for vulnerable enemy assault pilots to butt !@#$.

Seriously, it seems majority of these Map Voting complaints is happening in Middle Tier Land.

Its the mode, not the map.

I could deal with HPG 6 times in row if 30% of my drops were Conquest.

Hmmmm... Probably the only viable solution probably is tag game mode with the map.

Eg. HPG conquest, Frozen City Conquest, Mordor Skirmish, Forest Colony Assault.
Or something like that...

I actually support this guy 100%. At least hes doing something different than move to the same spot every game deathballwarriorfullretard online. I myself like to troll the solo que doing my own thing. Sometimes ill sneak up and get some rear core kills in a fast mech, sometimes I will snipe from the island all by myself on crimson straight. And get the highest match score to boot.

Play how you want to play, not what everyone else expects/wants you to do, and **** the meta.

If people are going to troll and pick the same maps and modes every single game, then theres nothing wrong with trolling, apparently our wonderful mwo community supports it, and encourages it, so why not do it?

Peace out.

First time playing in a while. 9 Matches in a Row = All Skirmish. And still counting up. WTF ?

Edit: Nights final tally:

Okay, so ... it took 14 rounds off skirmish, 2 rounds of assault before I finally hit a conquest.

I'm a conquest fan.

So how is that even REMOTELY fair ?!?

It's not.

It is statistically near impossible for one to keep picking the same mode and maps every match. Go ahead and try it. You can't.

How is picking the same mode and maps considered trolling, in the first place?

Going out of one's way to hamper the team's performance is considered more of a trolling.

Random game mode and map selection is the fastest, simplest, and most viable solution.

While I'm all for having fun if you don't want to be part of the team why not drop in the testing grounds? Then you aren't being a jerk while you let off steam. If that is too much of a chore than join a group of skirmish haters and drop in 12 man map selection groups. If both of those seem bad to you I suggest finding a hobby less reliant on working with other people.

When in doubt... Assault Scout!

Use your light Mechs to bring heavy-level firepower. I like my dual PPC Ravens and jenners, dual ERPPC Panther, AC/20 Urbie (of course), 2LL + 4ML Jenner, etc.

Have fun! Every volley you land feels like a successful mission.

- Check Achievements, maybe something will appeal to you.
- Start a group of like minded people in terms of random maps, about 24+ people total counting you, play Private Match. There are free Private Matches and I have not heard of random voting being allowed in those. I would join such a group if there was one, just a matter of getting enough people and scheduling like how the leagues are done.

Now that I typed that, I admit I have no idea if Private Matches affect Psr or Tiers.

Going out of your way and expecting people to always go to the same spot on every map and always doing the same death balling strategy is considered trolling.

Why? Stale tactics. Stale gameplay. Stale game.

Then you get people like the OP, and myself, who are so sick and tired of seeing the same fail match after match, and just saying F it and doing our own thing to win.

Is it wrong? Nope. As long as you contribute to a match and help destroy mechs, there is nothing against using your own strategy to win a match.

Is it considered trolling to some degree by the community? Yes.

Do I find it amusing and funny? Yes.

The mwo community is creating trolls. Trolls dont just appear all the time. Something in game facilitates the need for them. Going to the same DERP hill on Alpine. Always going straight to mid on Terra Therma.

Going into comp drops in comp teams and having some wetard unit leader who knows more about candy crush than mwo telling you what mech and exactly what build to bring, and telling you how to play the game.

Well I say **** the candy crush unit leader. **** the meta. **** the people telling you how to play this game.

You wanna do the same **** strategy on every single map?

You wanna pick the same maps and modes every single game?

Its time to troll, because we have been trolled. You reap what you sow mwo community.

It is kinda ironic - the people claiming I am "ruining" their game mode hate mine so much that they have essentially removed it from play. Then they turn around and demand I support theirs...

And its not like they don't do they same thing - they drop on Assault and ignore the base and play it as skirmish, they drop on Conquest and ignore resource caps and play it as skirmish. And then they complain that I don't support their mode? LOL.

Just stop playing, [redacted].

I also dislike the lack of mode/map variety caused by the voting system so since its implementation I have not even logged in and continue to do so until it gets removed. If the voting system stays then I leave for good. Easy as that.

The best way to get rid of the voting system is to not play the game and tell PGI your opinion [redacted]. Once PGI sees a significant decline in player number while players vocally complain about the voting system they will be forced to react and remove it.
