Disclaimer: I am not happy with PGI or the path this game has taken

Question: Do you actually get off on complaining, because it seems like any time anything changes, regardless of whether its good or bad (and make no mistake, though the list is short some changes HAVE been good) you all freak the hell out.

The forums are basically just a support group for disgruntled players to cry on each others' shoulders. Just like real-life conversations, posting about junk on the forums provides some form of relief because it, in a way, "shares" the burden among multiple people instead of being carried by only one person.

It's like Mechaholics Anonymous in here...

Considering that PGI shows no signs of ever reading any of the content of their forums these days ... I think I would agree with Fup ... the only folks we are talking to are ourselves. :)

I blame the internet, it turns ordinary people into delusional self-satisfied tools.

Most of the things PGI have done that was good are things they should have been doing anyway. Is the forum not handing out participation medals to Little Timmy often enough?

Hmmm... I really don't complain to much, and I sure as hell don't throw my self on the floor and get all spun up in a tantrum like a spoiled 5 year old like some people do on the forums.

For my self, I am looking forward to the "new re-balance" and yes I played the PTS exclusively ever sense they started it and liked everything they were doing for the most part. The only real thing of contention there was what was dubbed the "Ghost damage" mechanic which the player base were split down the middle on weather they liked it or not, but Russ said they dropped that so I really don't get the doom threads by those who were against it.
Most of the people wailing on the doom threads were also people who stated that they didn't participate in the PTS to begin with and appear to be screaming simply because they can.
I can understand the concern that the IIC mechs will come out right behind the re-balance and how that will play is any ones guess.

Overall, I come here because its popcorn and a movie ticket worthy watching people freak out... However, it does get annoying at times.

Lets start off by saying I have for 3 years seen some of the best game ideas on these forums for MWO and MechWarrior-BattleTech games in general that even past MechWarrior IP gamers and fans would have loved to see implemented in MWO.

The Devs and PGI are ignorant fools to believe they know more about this IP than anyone else and refuse to implement ideas to the core game that could save MWO from its dismal future and closure.

But we as players and fans don't know what we want right? The only way to prove to Russ and PGI that bad ideas like the Reporting system and new Voting system were not needed and a waste of time is to stop the $USD flowing into payroll.

It is the only method PGI understands is loss of revenue Most players and fans on this forum are by and large intelligent and know MWO and this IP far better than the Devs and staff of MWO ever will and it is there choice to listen to there official forums when good ideas are presented or let there game die.

The stupid idea to go on twittertard and facecrack to avoid there players and fans is hilarious and chicken at its core to not want to stand up face the crowd and fix MWO'S problems and make it a viable game for the new players and older vets.

This is not a rant but a observation of PGI'S arrogant disrespect for those that pay them to keep there doors open but like you said who is listening to the forums? Just MODs that ban good player sand fans from the forums and game that truly 90% only wanted to have fun and give there best ideas only to be silenced.

Closed Beta was so full of promise... It took me years to accept that PGI is terrible and there is no hope.

So I stopped forum warrioring a cpl months ago.

Nothing left to vent.

Russ and Paul suck, it is known. Why preach to the choir?

PGI make 10x more mistakes than progress, it is known.

Now we all go play our other games, and check back with MWO a few times a year... for shorter duration each time...

Much like TTK, my TT-lost-interest in MWO is now lightning fast.

After 2 years, I am leaving. This voting system isn't acceptable and I would rather pay another game who actually listens to their customers than put up with this feces.

Pretty sure a significant portion of the complaint threads at this point are just made to try to bait people to get to report them.

There have been SOME, good changes, most are pretty terrible, the last two month changes and proposed changes have been spectacular in how bad they are.

Do I get off on it, nope. Do I like that I spend more time here complaining, than playing the damn game, nope.

Only other games I've complained about on message boards other than this, has been to S.O.E after selling the European section to a German company that frequently claims that playing video games causes people the be violent unstable killers.

And world of Tanks for the crappy selection of British Heavy and Tank Destroyer lines.

Neither of which I play anymore

Most other games I haven't given a damn about, I've just simply stopped playing them and removed them from my P.C.

I complain because I care, and I can't stand the direction the games going, but don't want to give up on it, yet, though it seems more and more likely.

I don't want it to be like War hammer online, a game I liked and played a lot, left for awhile and when I wanted to play again discovered the servers had closed down.

so sure when some crap turns up, I ***** about it

I've played this game since 2012, and I'll tell you, things have been ever changing (at a snails pace) and more then half of the changes are implemented to fix the previous changes, which were implemented to fix previous changes.

Moral of the story, build something right and form a good base.

Then expand on it. Yes I'm looking at you clan tech/mech balance.

If IS stuff wasn't balanced and working properly yet, what makes you think clan tech will help that?

Anyway the overall game is great but all the little details are just duct taped together with 100+ hot-fixes to fix the fix.

One word can describe the pain of unnecessary changes....

Close, but I see it this way;

The forums are basically just a support group for diehard mechwarrior fanboys to pat each other on the shoulder and proclaim that nothing can be wrong as long as there exists "the game". Unlike real life they deny even the grossest evidence of incompetence by the Developer because somehow they believe that by defending the mistakes in the game it will somehow get better, especially if enough of them agree to swallow the kool-aid.

Well, my profile isnt restricted yet. It's a thing how i express myself with a single picture then with just a thousand words. I don't think how many people do not realise how awfull this game is with a triple AAA rating.

1+1 / addition sum and the continous of stupid idea's like laser lock ghost makes people (temporary) go nuts. Legit and a valid reason. It makes people quit. Temp. or not. Or what about that wonderfull crosshair thing. I mean, ghost hits. A guessing game. And yes i have tried the PTS plenty of times untill the pop weared out.

I mean, how can you even back a game up with who comes up with that idea in the first place?

But here we are, the laser lock is canned, but we still have these little suckdolls on the forums who are just so full of ignorance and still call it 'a good game'. I wonder when and how they're going to realise that's the above was a desperate action of in-experience and that you shouldnt expect a blow or 180 degrees turn of the whole game with PVE in the pipeworks.

I wonder if anyone remembers my thread where about i said that you would be naïeve if C.W. would change the game. It was before Phase I. Or what about the first Clan invasion? It sure shook some things up, right?

In fact i firmly believe if the current management was replaced and or they hired a extra developer with knowlegde of balance and economy then we, i and others would complain less. In other words how obvious do you want things to be? MG, flamers and so on have been biting the dust for years. Get it? I'll say it again: for years.

In my opinion PGI doesnt play their game at acceptable levels to have a idea of what issues and problems we are currently facing. Russ has a slight idea. It's something. But not good enough. For example PGI sure took the time to write the most poor thought out idea to combat our current -'meta'. It took them literally a full year to achieve this. Unfortunately that meta caused by imbalanced gap between weapons have become mainstream under the Community.

The base game, the core and the first pillar of Mechwarrior Online is fun. I will tell you that. The rest around it smells like a cut onion and makes your eyes water.

I am no doomsayer, nor i do want to convince you and other things but i just cannot believe that after one year after the split in our final last months of this year people still back this up. The above idea's should have gotten you some sense that the game is still suffering by the same guys who thought a increasing frequency of packs while unfinished announce more mechs, ghost laser lock, a public tier system, the extreme short PTS phases, Steam release (fixed date, probaly December or Q1 2016) and announing IIC packs 6 months before initial release was a good idea. And now they're willing to put some of the changes live already on 1st of December.

The new map voting screen is a perfect example of a minimum viable product. The only thing what doesnt apply on the vote screen is viable. But the screen looks cheap, it looks rushed and i feel no single connection with Mechwarrior or rest of the U.I. I have made a example on my profile page (scroll down) how i feel and should be done. You like it or not but it does give more immersion. Thats the point.

One last thing i would like to remember you: Go have a look at the store and count how many mechs are oversized. Poor Pult, poor Cent, poor Victor and more. I havent heard from the rescale program in months and the only thing i know is that their 'plan' was to start after the IIC pack. Unfortunately only handpicked mechs by polls from the Community will be rescaled.

Which comes to the point that some mechs will never see the daylight again because of their scale, hardpoint inflation and terrible hitboxes.

For the rest i just point my finger and shake my head at people who have actually thrown another bag of money at their screens while it can't be more obvious as the last couple of months have proven that this game will suffer another few years untill the license runs out. Atleast that is what my prediction will be. Lucky i won't be there to experience this any longer.

It is what is. If you still have fun: good for you. I am just looking further then my nose and summerize what has been (half)finished and what not. What to antipicate and what to expect from PGI while they maintain the same development course.
