The game isn't ready for Steam but some of the players might be, so I'll be looking for players that ask for help in-game and do my best to answer their questions.

Steam has a guide section doesn't it for games? Things could always be put up there.

Never have I seen so many grown-ups behaving like spoiled princesses who think they know **** best.
I know for sure they will try to make the newcomers-life miserable, because they were once butthurt that 3PV was implemented, or EMC is still not behaving like THEY want, because once you could buy 500$ mechs.....I could go on.
Those people live in the past and are butthurt that they do not have what THEY expected, without thinking what everyone else might think and that there are people who throughoutly enjoy this game.

Then I will tell at the beginning of the match that I'm dropping with 11 new players and if they want to have any players in 3-6 months to play with, they better dont give them a too hard time. Because if we as a community scare away the steam players, this game will probably die.
And no, there won't be any MW substitute for a loooooooooooooong time so have fun playing whatever else you want.
OR you could try to sustain this game or already leave and play whatever else you want.

Are any of the unofficial forum historians still around? They have the bookmarks and such for some great guides and tips written over the years.

New players will be finding that out for themselves, there won't need to be much effort from any current players to let new players know that.

That's true, putting up some popular guides on Steam would probably be more helpful than anything else the current playerbase could do and it could actually be worthwhile.

I think that's easy to implement and a reasonable request.

So all the STEAM noobs will get lots of lots of good teaching.

I'm sure I'll see a lot of the new players since I'm tier 3, the butthurt tier between good and bad.

Hate to break it to you but people coming in from steam are going to be 99% solo pugs or maybe at most 1-2 friends. And they will not want to commit time to joining a unit and training before they jump into games. Sorry but expecting steam players to do that is just totally unrealistic.
Best thing vets can do is what some people have suggested above. Offer help (in a non-d-bag way), write up guides, post video tutorials, generally be good sports in games and in voip and maybe don't run your uber meta mechs as much during the first month of release to at least make the games closer/more interesting. In fact maybe run your worst mechs to make it more a challenge for yourself.
Also, very basic video tutorials on how to navigate the UI would be super useful. I've recently brought 3 friends to MWO and getting them familiar with the UI was a big challenge. E.g. Where to even look to send chat/friend/group requests, how to buy a mech, the mech lab, where to level mechs w/ exp. etc.
