Well, it's a nice thought, but I really don't have time to flesh out something so vague. I'd like to help ya out, but you know how it is these days :)

As an aside, I'll not be doing additional insignia requests until some time in the future.

Robinson Rangers... My Wolverine and Our Scout Lance Warriors Badge.

Yes I hijacked the B/W of the Wolverine from the web.. used GIMP for the color work.. the badge is all mine.

Okay so 3 more insignia (House Imarra, House Rakshasa, 1st Republican) were added to this post: #218.

Great Job Hayden,

I really enjoyed watching every single Insignia, thanks for that.

In Mechwarrior4 I used a Custom Made Insignia of the Davion Heavy Guard RCT, maybe you can also work with it... cuz I think its pretty brilliant:

...and I have to say it: the Fox Claws down below are important cuz those are the hands of Hanse "The Fox" Davion. It`s not bay leaf.

Thanks. Like I said on that post, that series was based off a number of an older image of the Davion Guards insignia seen in some earlier projects, like the Succession Wars table top game. The only image that can really be considered accurate is the base Davion guards insignia, the others are conjectural, which I should have mentioned in that post, and I am correcting as I type this out. My goal in that was really to do a creative exercise based off older source material, which is often ignored.

As an aside, I do have some issues with the extant Davion Guards insignia, namely the broad palate of colors used. The project was a kind of wishful thinking on my part, and the older insignia facilitated a means to an end: a way to cut down on colors and still remain true to some form of canon.

Anyway, at some point I would like to do something a bit closer to the better established Davion Guards insignia. It's just a matter of building up the gumption and finding the time to do it.

I got a chuckle out of "bay leaf" :)

the only thing I have read is Wolf's Dragoons BattleTech #1631....

so far unit nickname: "The Night Owls" and unit insignia: "a snowy owl with its wings extended"... on page 92.

in my signature I have an 17th /8th USAF Weapon Sqdrn patch and changed the color to red (red and white recon colors) and put in the lower right next to a 7th Kommando symbol...

again thx for considering this endeavor...

I'm a bit shy for a kind of necro post, but may I request help of artists for Capellan Warrior House Dai Da Chi insignia reconstruction? I did an attempt to find what Dai-Da-Chi stands for and was surprised by the result. It's very likely, that Dai-Da-Chi comes from Chinese 歹大赤, but I can't say what BT lore authors meant exactly. Evil-Big-Red? Evil-Large-Red? Bad-Big-Red? Anyway, it's very likeable to be quite good translation, as far as that Warriror House was founded by Colonel Dai Da Chi of Red Lancers - a very suitable primitive nickname for a martinet.
From that perspective coloring of the insignia

looks incorrect, red should prevail in the dragons' colors, IMO.
I like the impression of that crest, it would be cool to have the insignia stylized in that manner if possible:

Well, it's quite a tough challenge, but I will be very grateful if somebody would accept it.

Quite an interesting challenge. I always love the way you document your cases... Anyway I am very tempted but at the same time I have a backlog problem and production limitations so it may take a while. Unless a colleague wants to give it a shot...

Thank you for the interest to my request. I fully understand the difference between real life and hobby, wish you gracefully overcome any difficulties in your life :).

Here is small addendum to my investigation.
Edit: new translation for Dai-DaChi found: 大赤 - DaChi was the name of [literally] big red banner in Chinese army of Zhou Dynasty (1046–256 BC), thus we have Dai-DaChi could stand for "Evil Ensign".

That's a better picture of insignia:

but I've found, that don't like the dragon inscribed, that's a shaggy worm, not a chinese dragon (yeah, I don't feel great respect to BT authors and novelists, they had shown too much ignorance in many areas). Asked some search web-engines for help and voila, here come some nice chinese dragons. BTW, every self-respecting chinese dragon wears horns or even antlers.

Cool looking stuff in here. What what about those old pirate faction insignias that never got that much attention?

I like that Hellion logo, probably use that on my site. I think it would make a great cluster insignia.
