How about implementing refill stations on CW maps? It would make, for example, meds and lights more useful, because they normally can't carry that much ammo with them.

Lets say: 1 ton per 30 sec, but when you start shooting from this area the refill process will stop. Max refill up to what you spawned with. Defenders need double the time for refill. You could also restrict it to max one refill attempt.

I think, lasers have, especially in cw, an advantage, because of the length of the fight.

Make them look like little ammo crates, with Missile or Bullet Icons on them.

Make them spin too, so easier to see.

Ohh, then add little Shields! They will replenish armor!

There was similar question on some of the townhalls. Sorta like "Will we get more ammo/ton in CW because of the length of the fight?".

The answer was: "No, You won't".

The thing is, that the game is balanced for 1:1 battle proportion. Whether it is 12v12 or 48v48 the every mech is balanced for facing similar single enemy mech (on average). That's why the match score of pub and CW games doesn't differ a lot (if you use all 4 mechs of course).

And as for match time, you spend much of it on just walking from the spawn to the firing lines. I don't think the one would have free time to break the formation and run for supplies, unless it's a lurmboat, ofc=)

Yeah, and let's also add healing lasers, so we can bring a real role warfare with wizards and tanks to the game. :D

Was only a suggestion and was sure myself, that I'm not the first with such an idea. At the end of the day, i will spawn laser only mechs, lets look how others get bored by this "diversity" of fighting styles.

Your comparison 12:12 is the same as 48:48 is wrong. With the latter, you have a growing chance your mechs survive much longer and the difference and benefits the AC have over the laser gets smaller and smaller the longer the game lasts. I have anyway my doubts about the advantage the Ac have over lasers, when you see on non CW maps how few AC's are used, compared to lasers.

And for your "breaking the formation" thing, you think, it's better having someone beside you without ammo, as someone leaving the line for refilling? And you guys wanna make fun of my comments? Really....

Sorry if I somehow offended you, I just don't like healers, especially applied to games such as Mechwarrior.
As for the ammo balance, It's mostly all Russ statments, I've just added my thoughts about match time and repositioning.

So yes, for reposition I think it's better to trade some engine/armor for additional ton of ammo if you're getting low most games, then being forced to move for refills. Things may be different on other gamemodes, like PVE ones.

As for AC-s, 2xUAC5+3xERML TBR is actually better then 2xLPL+3xERML TBR on hot maps. A bit harder to shoot though.

@OP, ballistics already have an advantage over lasers. You want to poke around all match without any Fire Discipline, then yeah, you gotta bring the energy hardpoints. It's the way it's always been. They have, in fact, got that right. The entire point of ballistics and missiles is they are better, but limited.

So yeah, sure, once I run through four or five mechs my dual Uac5 Hunchback is dry.

It's a good thing I brought three more mechs isn't it.

Dont forget match score being divided by mechs used

There is no way to reload ammo weapons and suiciding for the next mech hurts your matchscore.
