while waiting for a mech bay sale is fine in theory.. How long do you wanna wait? this year they had a few sales,, but before that they only had 2? I forget exactly.. so unless you want to wait what could be months, that is really not the best advice.
So dont wait for sales if you needs bays.. Just buy them. Though this time of year, there will most likely be a sale at the end of nov, and with steam launch, and the holiday, i'd think something would be coming.. So it doesn't hurt to save some c-bills just in case. Buy what you need and You'd still have 2k left, 4 bays+2 means 6 mechs to master, which is more than enough to get rolling. 2K is enough to pick up a nice hero on sale.. Or pick up some Standard paint on sale. (there are 6 basic colors you can buy with c-bill too, in fact i use the orange and brown on lots of my mechs.
Also, Camo, you can pick up one shot uses for 75 or 125 MC. which is nice if you don't plan on swapping camo often. But even then, you can do it 10 times before buying a full unlock for a mech type is a better deal.
Another great use is the single Day passes, or weekend passes. I personally love the day passes. you can buy 10 day passes for the cost of a single month. I often go weeks with out playing, so day passes to me are the best deal. buy a day pass, and have a blast all day, and watch your c-bills soar.
one last thing, there are a lot of nice heroes around, that hit 50% sales from time to time. Even the heavies and assaults are not to bad.. My personal favorite heroes are the Jester, and Stalker.. though the Ilya is also a great mech. I do own huggin, Ember, and arrow as well, though i don't play them a lot. Really havent used them much at all, while they are fun mechs, the others i like so much i just don't get around to um. the Hero bonus+ premium is a really nice boost.
Last year just before new years they also had a sale on a years premium for half off? I forget, but it was a very nice sale. I wish i could of grabbed it, but i was short on cash. So keep an eye out on that.
They also run MC sales too, So if you can afford the 100 dollar package, and if you budget it well, and arent in a rush to spend it all, you can get a ton of stuff. I spent about 100 bucks total since i started a few years ago. I have 60+ bays, 50+ mechs, 5 heroes, and lots of paint.. You can really get a lotta stuff for 100 bucks and of course time to play..
