My Take On The Voting...

I want Terra Therma.
Several other people want Alpine. I hate Alpine.
Everyone hates the Bog so that's not an issue.
River City could not be more "eh".
No one else picks Therma.
Alpine is winning, followed by River City.
I move my vote to River City, not because I want to play River city, but because it moves it higher than Alpine.
We play River City.
Now, what has happened here? What's happened is I didn't vote for the map I wanted...I voted so the map I didn't want wouldn't win. I can't think of any other time when a video game has compromised my integrity in such a way.
I will no longer be voting.

You managed to compromise in a situation that demanded compromise. That's fine. You think this is bad? It is nothing compared to role calling competition in League of Legends.

While i agree on that point. But; The U.I is bad.

It shows is why i hate the minimum viable product. (Planned adjustment of the map vote will be 3)
Personal views and opinion may vary but i am just showing that there could be done so much more.
Tied rewards is just a basic idea what could expand to more balanced options.
The current U.I doesnt feel like Mechwarrior at all. No immersion, no connection.
And final: >>no connection with the already bad economy<<

Remember in the Siege of Leningrad where Fedor von Bock agreed to let food and supplies flow into Leningrad so long as Andrei Zhdanov didn't open up his field artillery on the encamped German troops? This is combat...there are no compromises. Compromising on what battlefield the play really subtracts from the overall quality here. It's one step away from immersion.r]

Now its pick a Mech and hope that the game mode, the map, and or the teammates, don't make it the worst choice possible.

This is a game. And I am liking the voting system. If you are no longer voting, then you will lose out--just like the Soviets did, when they were boycotting the UN Security Council at the outbreak of Korean War.

Lose out? I'm doing pretty fair no matter which of the three skirmish maps we get to play on now

Not voting simply means I won't support it.

No what he means is you lose the game where you tell PGI you don't like their new thing.By not voting you have zero impact other than saving your own integrity and pgi couldnt careless about that. You need to quit the game for the time being if you want to have any impact. The less people plays the worse the game gets, it's a downward spiral, you know the expression "if im going down everybody sinks with me"?

This is why your vote needs a 4% chance of winning....I don't know why this system was not chosen.

You know what's wrong right?
I mean the idea of a voting screen is not bad.
But releasing a voting screen with minimum effort is asking for troubles.
It's like having a nice idea but a horrible execution.
This is what most people upset about. It's the damn wasted potential which i- and others see.
It's not that hard to figure it out.

having seen the way the games gone it has become so boring its just not fun anymore
i don't want to know what game mode i am playing i don't want to know what map i am playing, why , cause it was fun not knowing if my build was to heat heavy for the map etc, that was fun trying to work with what you had built, now you play the SAME 2 MODES AND SAME 3-4 MAPS so i can just set all my mechs to the same build , no need for change no need for variety, just the same same build cause i know whats going to work on them 2 modes and 3-4 maps, sorry but its BORING, yea thats right BORING
I had all the boxes ticked so didnt matter what mode or map, anticipation of what mode/map i was going to play and if my mech was good for that mode/map was part of the fun.
As a new player i should not be wanting to walk away from the game after 1 month cause its BORING, ok i am only 1 player but hey its 1 to many to lose and i predict i wont be the only one, sorry for going on

It's not that it was released incomplete that bothered me. The simple fact that it catered to the manority. Allowing the players to vote on a map, but advertising that it only takes 30% of the players to win the map is just going to irritate people. Then, as I posted above, people will begin to vote for a map they don't really favor just to try and get out of the map they really don't want, all while being forced to ignore the map they really want.
The current system of allowing those who lost their previous vote to have their current vote cast more weight is better, but easily manipulated. With patience I can build my multiplier by voting for the least popular map each time and, in three or four matches, you all will play the map I want after having already selected a prime mech and loadout. It's not a bad kind of manipulation, though, but it can be done.
Keeping the current system, plus making the percentages off the table, would be better.
100% random would be best...which is amusing since we already had that and let it go.

We could never Vote for Maps before. Thus if you do not Vote, then nothing has changed. Is having nothing change in this regard a problem for yourself?
