Wtf Happened To Srms And Can It Be Fixed?

SRM hitreg has been off before, but was in a good place about 6 months or so ago with the 'buckton fix' or something like that.

Any idea what has happened since then? I stopped playing mechs with SRMs as a weapon system a little while ago, but was reminded of the hitreg issues again in a match today when SRMs from behind me flew through my mech and detonated in front of me against terrain without doing damage to me.

How did this get screwed up again?

Bein noticing my SRMs seem to disappear into a black hole sometimes when I shoot them, haven't noticed the problem until very recently

Only played with clan SRMs, have any more experience with others?

SRMs are not as bad as many people make them out to be and I think the changes on PTS 4 will put them in a good place.

We've had people complaining about SRM hitreg for the last month at least. I've still had great success with them, but a lot of people have basically given up on SRMs until their hits start registering again.

That said, the buffs for missiles on the PTS should do nicely for them. I do wish they'd bump the ammo to 120/ton, both for balance reasons and because it makes a bunch of sense and regularizes ammo/ton for all SRM launcher sizes, while also working for the half tons.

I've noticed the hitreg issue for at least 3 months now. Its why I took SRMs off all my Raven 3Ls and went with pure laser builds, which is really hurting my damage output. But an 18- 22pt alpha is better than 40 pts that rarely seems to register damage.

Has anyone noticed whether it is more prevalent in community warfare? I know my favored Scat build is 3 med, 2 SMR6 with Art

Solo que seems to work fine 90% of the time (or at least I dont notice the problem)

Been playing in CW event, and I've notice several volleys simply vanish. Like, not the normal problem in the solo que where the SRMs dont register- these just straight up dissapear.

I had a wolfhound less than 50m away walking slowly backwards and hit him with 24 SRMs in the torso.

It didn't even breach his armor....

It's sad but srms have sucked vs all lights for a long time now. I remember back in the 4SP and Cent 9A days when srms were lethal against lights.

I killed Commandos with a single SRM 6 volley in my Dragon. It was beautiful.

SRMs are actually pretty useful for legging lights when they're registering. I hope this is fixed soon.

Anyone else notice in CW if you fire SRMs at a generator, it's like the view depth is messed up?

The animation on the missiles gets really small before they explode as if the generator is really far away, but it's right there point blank.

I hate running up on a SRM boat.. Imagine how bad it'll be when it's fixed....

Hopefully the weapons updates will make them better, since part of the biggest problems with them is their velocity is slow and their spread is significant.

I run anything I can right now with SRM's. Zeus's with 3 SRM6's and Wolverines with 2 or more are my particular favorites.
