I still have a lot of testing to complete, if you would be so kind, please join me in the PTS so we can make sure the Dec. 1 live changes are good ones. I will be there for another 4ish hours before I have to go to work. Thanks.

I think all the changes are a waste of time.

They want people to test the changes and provide constructive criticism. Being unwilling to test simply because the changes are bad does little to help bring about good changes. Besides, they are only testing specific changes so that they can view them without interference from other potential outside effects. Even if the changes are bad, playing around more with them to really feel it out and given specific feedback on what feels wrong/right/weird is more helpful than not participating and just saying they're bad.

I did participate--for a whole evening. And they are bad.

Until one has enough experience to provide specific descriptions and what specifically needs changed, one did not test enough. One can never test a program too much. Until one has enough experience to provide specific descriptions and what specifically needs changed, one did not test enough.

I've stopped providing descriptions because it does not matter. I've got probably 15k - 20k drops under my belt since closed beta (hell if I know, it is a lot). They have done nothing to fix the laser meta and probably never will because they refuse to fix the core of the game.

Do you want to know the truth? I go on the PTS servers to murder other players in small group sizes because I enjoy it. It is nice to have prey packaged up real nice in small morsels.

That's the truth.

I didn't really find much difference between the Wubshee and the Dakkawhale. They both murdered with equal impunity.

I'm pretty sure it's Champion Quickdraws with a single missile launcher right now...

I have tried multiple times since it went on live. The first day was great. Now its just a ghost town. PGI really needs to put incentives into it.

What test ? they removed all good Ideas again because of the Forum Whiners, so we only keep different Quirks, and that will not change anything speacial.

Well, they patched that out.

However, I'm not sure if it's our balance master or gross disinterest, but it feels like all the mind numbing balance passes makes me so indifferent into wanting to test the changes.

I'd rather just put in a vote of "No Confidence" because many of the balance changes will just get into the main server anyways.

This community is an embarrassment to the Battletech and Mechwarrior franchise.

They either chopped or put everything interesting on the backburner.

Made very minor changes to weapons.

Shifted some quirks around like they do every two months or so.

Kept the horrendously bad agility nerfs from the previous test.

Left the Jesus Box relatively intact just with a smaller radius which is meaningless with the amount of ecm mechs in the game.

Honestly there is nothing to test. I tested PTS 3 and didnt like the agility nerfs. They stayed. The rest of the "changes" are going to play almost exactly like live so they are relatively meaningless and I feel no need to test again. As I have said in other posts. It is PGI's game and I have come to accept that pretty much with the exception of the Urbanmech they will change whatever they like regardless of out feed back. They will make the game the way they want it. I just have to decide if I enjoy it enough to play it.

Currently I do enjoy the game and therefore I am playing it. Ill keep informed as to the changes they plan to make but testing is starting to feel very pointless.

Frack.... Kristian is right. I'm off to the PTS server tonight.

I have to do a separate install right? Is there a FAQ to walk me thru so I don't screw up my current set up?

Thanks

I spent several days on it.

I feel no need to share or validate my findings, because everyone is set in their one inflexible belief on what is needed anyhow, and no matter if they were perfect, or total crap, people would not budge from their stances.

Oh I forgot, clan xl's got nerf batted.

Unit is currently on a clan contract at the time of this post but we flip regularly.

Myself I do not understand the clans are OP sentiment. There are advantages to both sides. Without quirks I give the edge to clans. With quirks nerfing clan max range and clan xl nerf seems heavy handed. Just means the underperforming clan mechs (which is actually most of them) will be even more unplayable.

Oh and personally I feel testing anything less than a 12v12 enviroment tests nothing as the current live game is 12v12. I know it was done to help test server get matches but I feel that it really tells nothing about how crippling the agility nerfs will be. There is a big difference between have 1 to 4 mechs fireing at you as you torso twist to spread damage and when you have 4 to 12 (if it is 12 your likely dead anyway).
