as expected they will wait for the topic to die by itself lose a bunch of people who complain and then try to regain the population through there new steam alliance. they probably guarantee them an increase in population for getting on steam. these people dont know the difference of voting because they were not here before it was enacted.

I guess the MWO player base is shrinking that rapidly that they had to remove the game mode selection to put all players in one pool the MM can pick from. (not that I like that and that may even increase the effect of players leaving MWO)
I guess we should play MWO as long as it lasts it might not be long.

The first voting system was stupid, the new one is fine. I'm getting a lot of variety and I don't mind playing all modes.
The only thing that ruins the game is the toxic part of the player base who just can't stop whining. without PGI we wouldn't even have this game.

Again, I think PGI has gotten a decent solution. Not perfect but that wont happen because you cant please a divided player base. They made a sound decision by offering weighted choice so that your almost guaranteed to get the Mode you want after 3-4 matches while reducing MM and queue times.
Generally speaking, we as a player base need to grow up (no matter your age) and understand that you will not be perfectly content with the way the game is played. Accept change (Where the player base divide is so clearly split even) adapt and move on.

this way we can tell 2 friends and try to help save the game as users.
now if the user base is shrinking they need to wonder why and possibly start trying to add different modes to make the game fun again. Not piss people off with out giving choices and shrinking the game modes.
ive been a program developer a long time not listening and ignoring a concern on your forums is detrimental.
first they need worry about game play how many OS can the game play on and keep those updates coming
2nd they need to have PR in place keeping the game moving forward there pod casts are useless and not hitting anyone but current users. they need to hit new users with old content repackage it as game play heroics its cheap and it works.
3rd they need to consolidate and go back to the roots of the game and ask why are people playing this game?
4th add game modes like king of the hill they have upgraded maps they thought would wow us it doesnt sorry.
use the old maps and use them for new modes and testing grounds you have them use it.
stop spending money in the wrong places and get the programmers working on game mechanics
i have a hundred mechs I use 3 they all do the same thing i can use a trial mech and still have a good time
adding mechs is useless and should not be a priority, drop that down a few notches and work on adding game content
not restrictions like voting. they lost site and vision and need to regroup it happens to the best of them. this is why we have so many games each year under the same title fallout fallout 2 fallout 3 fallout 4 this keeps the user base coming back.
they dont shrink the game they expand it each time.
now this is an online game same concept they need to add a new layer every 12 to 18 months however 4 times a year they need tweak the game to make it better not change it. 2 times a year they update with revisions and enhancements.
in between they are marketing the game and adding a few mechs here and there hosting some tournaments with real prizes.
Repeat its very simple every major company works this way from microsoft to sony to nikon to nvidia
dont break the mold that works these companies are successful for a reason they expand and if someting doesnt work
they acknowledge it and fix it fast. microsoft ME horrible nikons dx600 they fix it fast i can go on and on but they need to keep people up to date and be truthful hiding crap always smells bad and when its found and takes longer to clean up.

I experience it along with every other player; the difference is, I don't actually care. The game modes really aren't diverse enough to make me love or hate any of them, but I do feel strongly about playing certain maps. With that said, I'm not going to be upset if I have to play Bog or Forest Colony, despite never voting for them. The goal is still to shoot the bad guys, and that can be done in any map or mode; whether it's the primary or secondary objective, it's always going to be the way I have fun.
It must be rough to have a video game upset you, I don't know that I've ever had that happen to me other than when interacting with other players. Questionable game mechanics can be worked around if the core is solid enough, and this game isn't set in stone, with tweaks being made fairly regularly now. I wish I could empathize or even sympathize with the vote rage, but I can't. I don't understand.

As to random modes, it's more realistic to the setting. If you really don't care about that, then why are you here? If it's just for the shooting, then why not find an arena shooter?
If they end the business of last minute switching, then vote for what you want. If you don't get it, then your odds go up next time. Form a like minded group and you can have more influence.
FTR, I don't like Skirmish and don't enjoy it. I prefer more the tactical based modes. But I like BattleTech, so I'm here. Again, if you don't care about anything but shooting, why not just leave until they make more changes?

I've played this game since beta and I can't tell you how many "OMG PGI HATES PLAYERS GAME IS BROKN LETS ALL DEMAND MONEY BACK" threads I have seen. It's only been in place few weeks at least give them time to collect data and opinions- if everyone truly hates it do you think they'll really keep it?
This game, and PGI, has made SO MANY improvements over the past year and a half I think playing game mode you don't favor once every dozen drops won't kill you. And obviously if it's getting voted to play on some players must enjoy it.
Let's all take a deep breathe and remember that this is a game- a game that is constantly changing,so we'll have something new to complain about in a month or two.
If you want to remove something really useless lets drop the freaking ready button.

But for the Conquest and Assault players, it's worse, more than once every dozen drops. More like, half the drops.
It is a game and it should be enjoyable, but quality has taken a backseat to quantity apparently.
