The (S) variant is basically the 3-L with Phranken paint and said cbill bonus.  That's literally all it is.

I have to run, but I don't want to forget about this, are the skins ONLY unlocked for the 2 mechs you get ? AND I assume the color unlocks work for all your mechs ?

The skins are unlocked for the whole chassis, so if you buy the light pack you have the Phraken skin available for all Ravens and all Arctic Cheetahs you own.

If they implement new STEAM packs, maybe PGI will get front page coverage and help with increasing the player base.
