Now I'm curious about mwomercs.com and Steam pricing differences with regards MC bundles.

I'm guessing it's better price conversion in regions other than the US.

I'm in the Philippines and our economy is nowhere near the US in terms of dollar spending power. Steam games are often 40% lower or more when I buy them, but Steam will not allow me to trade it outside my region so gifting is a problem. I end up going to GoG to gift games to my friends in other countries. Wish Steam let me buy at full price sometimes to gift to my friends in EU/US/etc :3

Someone on welfare in the US earns more than most supervisory and management positions for local companies if you convert what they get to our local currency. People retire in my country because their pension is worth more here than in their home countries and they can live very comfortably here compared to living in the US.

This Founder's pack I was worth nearly half my monthly take home pay at my old job when I bought it.

Greetings MechWarriors,
However, to follow the recommended Steam convention we’ve decided that when these packs launch on Steam in December their prices will be based on regional pricing structures recommended by Steam instead of a straight USD-to-foreign currency exchange rate.
For the vast majority of players outside the United States, this will mean that the cost of these Performance Packs in Steam will actually be cheaper than what they would have paid using our standard Gift Store exchange rates.

tbh really.. ..it would be great if the gift store did this for international players anyway, from my experience I am refraining with much disdain from buying any new packs solely based on the fact that the exchange rate is so bad - basically spending $68 US equates to $100 AU, so when a full pack is over $110, it becomes even less economical to buy if you are overseas.. ..id consider that there are many other people who feel the same.

<shrug> I'm happy. I bought 2 Light Packs so I could have 2 Raven-3L(S) variants.

I mostly play the 3L, so having a +30% cbill boost to stack with my premium +50% has been sweet.

I'm guessing the only people going to negatively affected by this will be in the UK, since the GBP is stronger than the USD.

To give you an idea, I picked up the lower tier Rifleman for less than £14 tonight. So if the "regional" pricing structures are on some sort of like for like scale, then that could feasibly become $20 = £20. If that is the case I will be forced to reconsider any future purchases, as the perceived value of these digital goods will be severely questionable.

@17power no they are priced as low as we could manage without wrecking all other pricing - basically they hit 50% like mastery

Original: https://twitter.com/...655843390926848

I thought they were being removed because of their awful pricing value. This has been discussed at length on both MWO and reddit on how much lack of value these packs had. Wave 3 pre-order had so much more value, and these pricing problems will continue to plague MWO if its not rectified.

I guess steam will be the judge of these packs, let the hard numbers and player retention stats speak for themselves. I'd rather see MWO and the community not hurt by this. Time will tell.

In hind sight atleast the game is not priced like world of tanks >.>

Wow, this is very good news! You can expect a boost in sales for us Brazilians.

in Australia we get rip off hard by steam, We pay in USD and if its sold for 10 USD on the USA steam store we have it for 20 USD.

How will you solve this ?

""For any players outside the United States who have already acquired a Performance Pack from the Gift Store, and in cases where the Steam regional pricing falls below the standard exchange price, we will be contacting each of you directly to provide compensation options to make up the difference in cost based on your regional currency."

When does this happen?

I bought from Canada, and the price on steam right now for the Heavy Performance Pack is $20+ less CAD than what I originally bought it for in USD ($50) -> CAD ($67.89) vs the $43.99 CAD it is right now on Steam.

Yes, please. USD$29.99 converts to AUD$41.27 and then you get slugged with foreign transactions fees on top of that. Really does not represent good value. USD$59.99 for the assault pack equates to AUD$82.56 for two mechs. It is really overpriced, regardless of the add ons in the pack.

I can empathise with you - greetings from Switzerland.

And that "regional pricing" is nice over here. What's the USD Price for the smallest Performance Pack right now, 20 USD? My "regional pricing" in steam is at CHF 29 at the moment for that Pack. And if you throw in the exchange rates, it gets even worse. (Though, the USD has got stronger lately in relation to CHF, but still)

These injections are currently underway. Unfortunately it's a manual process, so it may take a day or two before all players receive their compensation.

Heya,

Sorry to be a pest, but what exactly should I be looking for on this?
Thanks.

We're providing eligible players with an amount of MC based on the difference in price between the Gift Store packs and their regional pricing on Steam (including the current sale discount). Once the injection is complete you'll receive an e-mail from us about it, and you'll be able to confirm the injection through your Profile>Credits page.

I just bought the light pack, had a steam gift card to use up. How do I get it into my MWO account? Do I have to download the steam version and run it once to get everything added?

EDIT: answered my own question. yes, after launching from steam, takes you to standard mwo login. After loggin into mwo, it asked if I wanted to redeem the pack now,or wait. Redeemed and into my standalone mwo install now.
