So I noticed in the patchnotes that they did a vague "hitbox fix" for a bunch of mechs including the Dragon. I've run some matches in my Dragons and I've noticed that my side torso's are getting hit a whole hell of a lot more. Did they just kill one of the few things the Dragon had going for it (XL friendliness)?

To make up for the huge nose box, yes.
CT still too large imo, but I believe they are wedded to the model at this point, sadly.

Hmmm...I liked the fact that the XL was basically never the cause of death. I think it makes the mech worse, but I suppose that's my opinion.

They need to balance recent CT hitbox pass with more arm hit box. Shoulders should be added to arm hitboxes imo.Edit: same with Jenner, add shoulder boxes to arm hitboxes.

Yup your right and not only that but its seems harder to use your arms as cover as well. Its like turning away from incoming fire actually gets your killed faster or something.
Time to look for small engine builds besides the dragon flame with the ac20.

Dunno i ran an XL dragon for 2 games a couple of nights ago, i found i was far more easily able to spread damage.
I also went 1 v 1 against a laser vomit Banshee, and blew out his CT before he could get mine, felt so good.

The Dragon will always be a easy target because on the CT, no way around it. It will never tank like a Thunderbolt but it's still one of the fastest IS heavies.
Introducing the DRG-1G wouldn't be a game changer but a nice change of pace to have a Dragon with more more energy hard points to go with the speed.

would also point out that soon enough, people will actually try and not focus the CT anymore on a dragon once this becomes more well known, once that happens it will get even worse.

I haven't done a full pass on it, but this is what the torso looks like now:

Basically to survive in a dragon now never do a 90 degree torso twist or else all damage will go to that side torso. To spread the damage you have to have people hitting the nose, best bet is to torso twist a little bit back and fourth.

with this hitbox design, the dragon is basically dead meat

I dont know, have done good in my dragons in the few matches I have piloted them. They might rethink the Dragons hitboxes later, who knows. I know its for three other mechs but look at this: http://mwomercs.com/...89#entry4840689

Additional Hitbox revisions for the Jenner, Catapult, and Nova
Most of the recent tweaks in the November 17th patch worked out very well, but these three went a little too far on the relationship of CT to ST. As a result we have made additional adjustments to hit a better middle-ground for these ‘Mechs, between their original hitboxes and the November 17th hitboxes.
