3x Streak SRM6 does the trick for me vs any light mech.
If you make sure they're not getting behind cover, it will hurt them everywhere.
Add lasers for extra fun and cheetah 'splosions.

The main problem with streak SRM is that if you dont have a counter ECM, the arctic will come really close to you and just wreck you nonetheless.

I think the main reason why so many people have problems with the arctic is because in order to kill them effectively, your team needs to communicate where they are really well. They do die rather quickly if focused, but can be devastating if they get behind you or in a sweet spot on the flanks.

If you are taking SSRMs... you basically should include BAP as a basic piece of gear to counter ECM (unless you have ECM yourself).

I've been finding lately that a low-slung gauss works pretty well against the ACH. If they start to circle you close, the low-slung gauss like what's on an Orion is about level with their torso. Get your timing right, and you can rip off an arm or a side torso.

Posted Image People....have a hard time killing the artic cheetah?

Good god man. It's not hard. stop trying to shoot at it's face and shoot it low. It's hitboxes are wider at thelower portion of the body. so aim for the hip/crotch area and they die pretty quickly or get legged and die anyway. Course....you have to be able to aim too. Posted Image

Aside from my first week playing since coming back to this I had no problem killing them fairly quickly. Ironically i found ballistic weapons better than lasers for the job leading the target and letting them run into the bullets is easier than trying to keep your laser pointer on a target that's desperately flailing about. But really...if you're fighting a light mech and not shooting at legs you're probably letting them run around alot more than they should be able to.

I always get plagued with light mechs and ive tried all sorts of loadouts just to take care of these pests.

I run brawler assualt mechs so this little guide is really applicable to assualts and a few heavies that can load the same weapons, i found a single weapon that is very effective against light mechs...... LBX 10 or 20, and 2 of them.......1 just isnt doing enough dmg quick enough, although it sometimes scares them away which is a very good tactic to employ against any player really (ballistics = scarey, they are loud, they hurt, and just like when that missile incoming warning comes up you just get that urge to run into hiding)....

even if the LBX not accurate it still hits pretty damn well when your just 20 meters aways and they dont really know how bad they are getting damaged, all they see is a shakey screen, red flashes everywhere and then a voice in their head saying im getting killed. this chain of events doesnt happen with any other weapon because you barely hit them......another bonus with the LBX up close is it is really damaging to all there components....something will exploded pretty quick... after that just a shot or 2 more everything else explodes

streak SRM are totally useless they simply dont turn fast enough for a light up close circling around you, SRM tend to be slightly delayed just enough for the light mech to dodge them. LBX does not have this delay (it does but its hardly noticable).

There is more to this than just weapons too........PUT SOME ARMOUR ON YOUR BACK at least 20 points. the pest is going to get behind you sometimes and you need this defense to prolong your life past 5 seconds. use this time to get your back on a wall............or you may want to run into a tight space with 2 or more very close objects which will limit the available open space to target you.

the last very handy thing to have now is the seismic sensor......its very handy in tight spaces, the light mech thinks you dont know where he will strike next but you see him, line up your shot and shoot, the lbx never misses..... srms are ok here too because you can anticipate a little better when to shoot......

DISCLAIMER: this is how i usually handle a single light mech and ill try it with 2 but 2 or more light mechs attacking you is pretty much game over no matter what you do..............
