I've seen countless posts with people complaining wait times aren't improving with the new voting system, which I'm finding hard to believe.

As a primarily light/medium pilot I used to alt+tab and read a few articles or make myself a snack before coming back to usually find the still searching screen. With the new voting system I have to wait after hitting launch now because in about 10-20 seconds and I'm voting for my map and game mode.

So are people just trolling like they did when we went full random maps/game mode for that day a while back, or am I just genuinely having great luck with wait times recently?

Not really.

I do in fact have longer wait times. But i do have some matches instant as well.

It really depends on how many players are online at the same time.

Some people have like only Oceanic checked and play when most AZNs are asleep and they play heavies.

I really haven't seen an improvement to wait time give or take a few seconds here or there. Even then short of a massive improvement in wait time(which wait time was generally pretty short to begin with and thus not something I had a problem with) it just isn't worth the loss of game mode choice.

my wait times were never bad, now they are even better

but what really improved is the match making. Never did I have so MANY close matches one after another. And with close I mean 12-11 close. Nailbiters. Its great.

Never had long wait times and I'm not really seeing any improvements.

If I would've had long wait times and the voting system meant giving up freedom of choice for almost instant matches, I'd somewhat understand why it would be a good thing.
But right now it just feels like they took something good, something that actually worked, away from us and gave us nothing in return.

No. Not trolling. My wait times vary from 15 seconds to 2 minutes or so in a heavy mech and it used to be less in lights and mediums. I haven't noticed any significant change due to the voting mechanism and I still get the occasional longer wait even with the voting mechanism.

I am in tier 3, if I am playing I usually play in the evening or weekend time slots in NA, and I also used to select all game modes and all servers except oceanic ... so I didn't have many constraints on my previous match making either.

Never had a problem with wait times before. However, my wait times between matches in my preferred mode have increased because now I'm stuck playing modes I don't want to play.

To be honest, I haven't noticed any great changes in matchmaking either. The proportion of close, stomped and stomping all seem to be about the same these days as they were before PSR ... at least for me.

In solo que it is pretty fast, however when I group with friends the wait time not only has not improved, sometimes it's worse.

Solo queue Eastern time around 8am or 9am:
-No discernible difference in drop time(vote system).
-No discernible difference quality of matches (PSR).

Group queue Eastern time evenings 5pm to 10pm:
-Random insta-drop once or twice per evening(?)
-No discernible difference in drop time(vote system).
-Quite discernible difference in quality of matches, much closer(PSR). Stomps still and will always happen.

My wait times have improved a lot. From sometimes a few minutes to mere seconds now.
NA + Europe mostly on EU prime time

Some really have problem finding match. But theses guys usually are in the "hight tier" were the matchmaking got less player to select and thus must wait sometime before being autorised to put tier 4 players.

Of course you have some tier 1 and 2 players lamenting they can't have instant match (bonus point if they want with only tier 1 or 2 player)

I have not played for about three weeks (because of the voting) but during the first week of it I got increased wait times. Oddly decreased for heavies but increased for everything else.

My wait times have improved dramatically since they implemented the vote system.

The main thing here is that PGI is going to introduce a 4th game mode soon, and THAT would have increased wait times under the old system.

It's not that it decreases wait times so much (though it does decrease it), it's that game content can be added without increasing them thanks to the new system.

We all want more game modes with more complex objectives, don't we? I do.

My wait times have been roughly the same. I do keep a eye on the %, i won't attempt a drop with anything over 40%.

My wait times have not decreased at all. Just assume get rid of voting all together. NO need for it.

Tier 1 in Oceanic sucks. My wait times went from 7-15 minutes down to 3-7, plus the matches have never been so balanced. Those times are using a light mech and the lower wait times are during Australian prime time. Plus with the weighted vote system I'm playing every game mode. But not equally, it should be random.
