Well, the Heavy Queue is usually that way anyway. I don't think we'll see much of a difference.

Okay, i really like this shot of the Marauder.

I know the dorsal cannon is an important part of the MAD but this one just looks so SLEEK and SPEEDY. like i just want to give it the biggest XL engine i can fit into into and turn it into a fast Heavyweight striker. (though that may involve getting rid of the PPC's though, and turn it into some kind of laser/pulseboat with SRM's, probably a bad idea though  )

Why show Faction camo?
I understood with Resistance because you bought those camo skins with the package. There is no mention of Faction camo being in these releases.

Is day 3 on the countdowns usually the cockpit preview?
Because if so I am excited!

They did it, they nailed the Marauder.
That thing look awesome... Can't wait to see the result for the Warhammer now.

I think the reasoning behind that decision is that the AC/10 and AC/20 bores are way too big to be made into a triangle configuration. I think the ballistic placements are reasonable :D

Well, you don't get to use multiple AC10s/20s in the same torso, so i don't think i'm being TOO unreasonable.
I mean, instead of adding the third barrel into the vent, they could've just added it on TOP of the first barrel.

Or maybe even add the third barrel NEXT to the second barrel (since it uses a much smaller mount than the first barrel).

I mean, there are so many ways they could've done that, it's kind of sad they went the way they did.

Right, because PPCs don't use the Energy hardpoints, right? And they're magically impossible to use against cockpits, right?

Not only that, C-ERPPCs have faster projectile speed than the AC5s, so how about that?

actually, you might wanna note that in a lot of those cases, PPCs are also moved down, like ACs.

remember when the TDR-9S had awesome ERPPC quirks? the fact that two of those are sidecarred at the height they were is why they lost that. The Timberwolf can do it as well, but it's also got a massive heat problem if it tries to.

reason a Marauder won't won't get a triple highmount like that? balancing. plain and simple. i do agree that the nose gun is a little weird though. having one off to the right a bit and then the third right by the cockpit would probably have looked better.

the wonkiness of the third barrel is most likely just distortion from the FOV the person doing the screenshot was using. the sky isn't falling, guys.

by the way, any chance to see the missile hardpoints of the 5D?

Talking about the Timberwolf-A's left torso that has 3 energy hardpoints above the cockpit in a horizontal line. Probably one of the best hardpoint placements in the game. (The Thunderbolt 9S/5SS right torso hardpoints are also sort of like this, but it's only 2 hardpoints being very high and close to each other. However they are quite a bit ways from the cockpit, due to the asymmetrical design of the Thunderbolt, which makes the whole placement less effective than it is on something like the Timberwolf)

Besides, that's completely not the point we were talking about. The guy simply made a point, that he thinks that Marauder's wonky as hell barrel placement is because "it'd be too overpowered" if they were close to each other. I was making a point, that PGI doesn't care about that and did that only because it's the easiest (but probably the worst) way to implement those extra barrels.

in all seriousness though.... how often are people going to toss three Ballistic weapons in there anyways? I'm probably gonna go for at most two (dual AC/5s/UAC/5s/LB-10Xs), MAYBE a 3 with MGs for lolz at some point. in all seriousness, the Marauder's key weapons 90% of the time are those arms.

I am genuinely curious to see what the missile hardpoint variant looks like with an LRM-20 shoved into it, though.

Well, seeing how people run 4xAC5 Cataphracts, i don't see why 3xAC5 builds would be so "out-there", heck i'd run it, if it looked good.
Yes. I'm one of those people that will not run certain builds just because i don't like how they look.

I want to see the quirks!

I'm still on the fence between the Collector pack vs Standard+Hero, and that's probably going to be the deciding factor.

you do realize they'll probably be re-written in two weeks, right? and in any event, it's the mech's shape and hardpoint layout that matter. Quirks really mean jack-all.

well, it's the Location of the hardpoints, not the fact it can carry them i'm talking about. that guy i was originally talking to wanted a tight three-barrel cluster you could tri-burst someone's cockpit out with. you can see why they wouldn't do that. don'
t get me wrong, i'd love dual LB-10Xs to be sidecarred up there too, but i know they'll be stacked, and i'm okay with that.
