Blue used to say "Register".. as in register your interest in getting one.. Yellow is "Pending" or another way of thinking about is that you have "Registered" for it.

Ah ok, Sleep addled then, i swear it used to be blue though.

It is a BETA. You WILL get to play the real polished game eventually. Personally I find letting others work out the bugs to be something of a relief, less work for me to do. I want the game, and I want it to work well. I've little doubt it will sell well regardless but I hope it also works well as a game on its own too. One or the other is good, but both together is what makes for dynastic franchises.

I understand that perfectly, I'm excited too.
I honestly have a hard time finding something to pass the time with and are "trolling" (read browsing) these forums whenever I can for anything new about the game, and of course to see if I got invited to beta.

But this constant posting about it could actually hurt your chances rather than help them, especially those threads that are just poorly disguised requests, or dare I say it... demands, for beta invites (I'm talking in general not about anyone specific).

Paul is probably sitting in the server room, like a father with bloody knuckles on Christmas eve assembling bicycles" Insert tab A into slot B and secure with wingnut XE but only after first tightening the locking washer using a torque wrench 33 degrees past locked, where the HELL is wingnut XE?? " It only says they switch to their production hardware today, not that it is up and running yet. I still have faith in Russ! He hasn't posted on the forums in a week, so he *must* be saving up for something amazing... like the announcement of Closed Beta Phase 2 invites

In the end I don't care.. I am excited and prefer to show my excitement and anticipation for the game. If that means I get pushed back down the line, which I highly doubt it would, then fine.. I will just wait for Aug 7th, which isn't all that far away anyway and getting in before that date is not something I am expecting anyway..

I feel that these posts of genuine excitement and anticipation help to spur on the Piranha team and keep them going strong rather than come through as a nuisance and an annoyance. If the hype and excitement was curtailed, the team wouldn't have a yardstick to refer to..

I've never seen a server is like a bike analogy before....

I hope Paul is SSH'ed into his server running gentoo doing a stage 1 install to optimize the servers, watching as his kernel compiles at lightning speed. Writing custom network drivers to lower network latency, all while eating cheetos and drinking mountain dew

They also typically release keys later in the day, even if today were one of those days, I wouldn't expect to see them until around 5-6 pst. Its only 3:49 pst right now.

They are more likely running images which have been complied for the hardware for months...

All these ppl wanting keys soooo bad? Do you guys really know what being a beta-tester is about? NOT just playing and enjoying the game as is, but trying to find bugs and reporting them with a replay. It's alot more work than , i think, ppl realize.

If you check out Hawkeye's stat posts you might realise that the chances of any given founder being given the key aren't very high due to the rather large number of founders.

Without beta testers, it'd be harder to find bugs - and a buggy release is not good for business.

That said, the injection date is a guarantee.
