I'm hoping to see some Wolfhound sniper / fire support mechs on the battlefield. Not just MPL boats.

It's kind of a shame that PGI has basically made the Raven the ultimate long range laservomit light, because it would have been better to assign that role to the Wolfhound, while keeping the Firestarter as the short range laservomit light.

Mm, better (ER)Large Laser quirks would've been a welcome sight.
That said it looks nice, feels beefy and can flash pretty well. I'm just dismayed that although it lacks JJ's and hardpoints in comparison to the Firestarter, it didn't get any real treatment.

it tanks better than the Firestarter, yeah I just said it! It dosent have JJ, but Im not using JJ that much anyways, heck even my Firestarters have next to nothing regarding JJ. Seems to have great hitboxes too.

So.... One guy liking it makes it good? They ready ac20 and pop when I see them

ST is easy to hit from the side. Feels totally outgunned by the ACH and FS9.

Meh.

I don't think it's a comp mech due to the lack of jj's but it's a good pug queue mech. I had a 16 kdr and all basics unlocked on the first one i took out within 6 matches.

You know Bishop for the forum's most well known Lyran poster you have a spent a lot of time disparaging one your house's most iconic mechs.

It's a functional battlemech. I don't feel the performance is there. As in, no JJ, and it's relatively slow. I don't want to put an xl in it for fear of losing one of its advantages; running with no side torsos and still having lasers to fight with. I'm running with R variant with 6ml and three extra DHS. It's working well enough to maintain a 2.0 kdr after a few matches. Clearly, I'm no juggernaught like Spiggan above, but it has been more enjoyable to run than the early black knight.

Yeah that was also with the R variant, i'm not doing nearly as well with the 5 energy one. I'm running XL as well. I find it's important to have as much accel/decel in and out of cover as possible with lights.

From what I can see on the specs, the tryhard build of choice will be triple ERLL on the variant with the ERLL quirks. Pokey-pokey all day. The other variants don't offer much of anything over other lights from what I can see.

It wouldn't surprise me. I'm not a fan of erll gameplay though so i just stuck 6 meds on it.

The variant with durability quirks is pretty tough.

can i ask you guys something about it...

how are they playing different between variants. I was looking at the stats, and honestly, they didn't look like they really had any different feel at all. As far as IS mechs goes, I can't think of a single mech that each variant is basically identical. a tiny % boost with a weapon quirk, just does not seam like it would be that much different at all. Even spiders seam like they have more variety.

maybe i'm wrong, And maybe people have not had enough time with um yet, but, it almost seems like you are just getting 3 of the same mech.

I will say i like the looks of them, But each one having 6 energy points in the same locations, i dunno, just doesn't feel right. It's almost clan like... and for IS that just seems wrong. :)
