Because for PTS3 and PST4, they failed to update either the code, or their AC2 message.

They're saying 2 additional Crit damage, but they set CritDamMult to 1...which means, 1*2=2, not the posted 4 (as they already do 2 Crit damage, just as Gauss Rifles deal 15 Crit Damage, without any 'critDamMult', which defaults to 1.0)

Well, actually, they're saying 2 additional DAMAGE, but I'll assume they just made a typo, repeatedly, meaning 2 extra CRIT damage.

The only buffs the AC2 got were a marginally higher crit rate (42% up to 52%) and 20% less heat.

• IS and Clan Autocannon/2s and Clan Ultra AutoCannon/2s now have the ability to crit internals at the same rate of chance as machine guns with a 1.0 damage multiplier. This means when an AC/2 does crit, it will do 2 additional damage per crit.

I'm not hopeful...

Will give a spin for the 6xCUAC2s on the Whale. Just glad the heat is lowered a bit, though 0.7 woulda been better.

You really need someone to twitter russ and bring it to their attention. They make a lot of "oversights" like this and genuinely are under the impression something was implemented correctly for years, until someone gets the attention of a staff member who has the ability to look at it officially and "investigate" then after years of forum posts about the same thing it was only a single person on twitter that got through and PGI realise something isn't working right. I have seen it happen a lot in the past. They really don't play their game very much.

With the heatcap and efficiency changes slated for Rebalance, it might be nearly where it is now in terms of sustained dps. who knows.

Without its old extended range, still not much point to using it compared to AC-5 when weighting the benefits between the two.

Pretty sure it's just poor wording. All weapons do their rated damage on crits (e.g. Gauss does 15 damage to components on a crit, PPC does 10 component damage, etc) , unless they have a multiplier like MGs, Flamers, and LBX. So they are saying it gets the MG's increased chance of critical hits, but it's still a 1.0 multiplier so it only does 2 damage, not the 9x multiplier MGs normally have which would give it 18 damage on a crit. It still only gets 2 damage on a crit. All crit damage is considered 'additional' in this context.

So, no they are not going to fix anything in game because it isn't wrong. Maybe change the description to something a little more clear, but it isn't incorrect now.

Already have, also asked Paul

Whole lotta nothing from him.

Wasn't addressed from my PTS3 feedback, not sure about PTS4 feedback. We'll see next week.

Unless their change involves a half-second cool-down, 0.6 heat, and 125 rounds per ton, it's superfluous.
