Ok, so the more I think about it, the more frustrated I get. I have spent more money on this FREE game than I spent on two copies of Fallout4 (one for me and my girlfriend) Posted Image

The point is, spending that type of money on this game, one might expect to have everything unlocked, yet I don't even have something as insignificant as permanent Premium time Posted Image

I have spent close to $2500.00 on this F2P game. Crazy. I have all the Hero mechs, all mech packages at top tier (sans goldies), all skills, and up till today, all my mechs mastered.

I ask myself... "WTF Chris??"

I keep telling myself this will end soon, that my wallet will dry up. But these Unseens... Dammit....

Why would you even want everything "unlocked"?

Why would you need all variants of all mechs? It only means that you are going to be mediocre in all of them at best.

Its a very secret thing in my house too...we dont tell the ladies what we spend on games.

Us boys would be sleeping outside for next two weeks lol!
There is no YOU ARE SPECIAL pack unfortunately, so i think you got what you paid for.

I also have many badges of shame and much shame time accumulated from spending way to much on this game.

LMAO aye, try two YEARS of Premium Time and still got more to be injected with Origins and Unseens, I just hope the servers are still up in two - three years ;)

On the upside I don't need to worry about it running out just when I have an awesome game. One of the reasons I've been raking in over 1 million per FW match before the win bonus, PT is certainly good for that.

Just do not say this game has no grind issue, when one had spent thousands of USD to unlock everything. That would simply sound moronic.

Oh absolutely! No purchase made was because I thought it would give me an advantage. I've never asked for a refund either. I bought to support PGI and because I like mechs, not because of any misconceptions based on performance.

Are you honestly being serious right now , you believe the words that are coming out of your mouth or are you so far up PGI's ass you forget what reality actually is?

This is what PGI has done, not what the rest of the world does. 99% of games you can have all the 'playable' content with roughly the same amount you'd spend over that period on a AAA product. This is how F2P games were meant to work, it wasn't supposed to cost you an exponential amount. In fact, many F2P games allow you to use all content and only restrict cosmetic items. (Take a game like Smite, an incredibly popular MOBA, costs roughly 30USD for ALL playable characters)

As long as people like you and the others here still exist, shady business practices will plague the gaming market. I look around at all the people wearing the money they spent like a badge of honor, and my faith in humanity dwindles even further.

It's not a social status symbol, in fact, all it symbolizes is your inability to perform basic reasoning.

600USD = The cost to play games of the past at 60USD retail, 15$ a month for 3 years.

800USD= The cost of ONLY a majority, not all, of the champion/hero mechs buying MC at the cheapest price.

You're welcome, I'll be here all week doing basic math and bringing people back to the real world.

And yet you've barely spent anything compared to many of us with 1-2k+ sunk into the coffers. Should you feel "special" at 1/10th-1/20th of the investment of other players?

Clearly you don't play F2P online games such as Star Trek Online, or TOR, or any number of other games that have tons of paid content to the point you can never "own it all."

Now, if you're talking about 60usd standard game releases where you get access to everything, even that concept has shrunk to the point of almost being extinct with such concepts as paid DLC [which is just a bastardization of expansion packs, which have been around for YEARS.]

Seriously, take a look around at the AAA releases on the market, and point to a single one that has no additional paid content.

Quick hint... you can't.

I've spent far more on this game than any game I've played in my entire life (next closest would be Lotro). I don't regret any of it cause I love to support the game franchise I've been playing on and off since 1993 (original Mechwarrior on DOS). Some of the best memories I have is playing MW4:Mercs with the guys and gals of my unit.

It's not a game, it's a lifestyle.

At least you said it right. You used "spent a lot of money" instead of the "invested a lot of money" I often see. I can't figure out what's the logic of people "investing" time or money if they only play a game, unless they're on the dev team.

To me MWO doesnt sound too expensive after I got used to the free2pay concept.
By the way, MWO is the only f2p game I play.

I investet about $ 300,- in this game over the last 2 years and dont expect I have to invest much more over the next 12 month.
Most of the money was waisted in the beginning when I had to climb the first paywall and had to learn the mechanics of this game (also I played MW games since the very first beginning on PC the entrance was hard).
I lost the most money by changing from endo to normal and standard to XL engine for and back.
Thats an evil moneysink.

After having a couple of mechs (about 50 or so) the only thing you have to invest in is premium time (and even this is no more neccesary). And I spent more time in this game than in any game I ever played. To me it seems a god money-to-playtime-relation.

Free2pay is a bad game-concept but its the state of gaming at the moment and for a certain time.
But MWO is not so bad at all.
Only missing real content and still in beta-status but this community is very forgiving because its the only available battletech game.

There needs to be special snowflake cockpit items.

1000$ and you get a unique hanging snowflake and badge made just for you, I mean something needs to replace gold mechs.

You also get immunity to both forum and in-game moderation, you can now whine, and act as entitled as you wish.
