The Prime won't be a canon design unless they include A-pods which have no use currently. Mechwarrior 2 falsely led me to believe the Hellbringer was of the best mechs ever which I sadly learned in TT was not the case.

First, I HAVE been reading the backstory. Second, its the only poster I have, so I had to ask something pertinent to the mech.
Newbie here, but a veteran on the old Mechwarrior games and Mechforce on the Amiga.
Gamer, not a historian. So ease up. Also used to play in the BattleTech pods back on Virtual Worlds.

Custom PC with overclocked Phenom II X6 1100T
7.4 Win Experience 8GB Ram, Win7 Ultimate
Dual 5850 cards, in crossfire with Eyefinity 2700x1440 three screens in portrait mode

Looking forward to getting out there, Beta or August 7th.

A lot of people here are old school, like really old school and pretty much BT historians. If you get a chance checkout sarna and maybe even som ebooks to help bone up on your BT knowledge, how are you currently checking out the history?

yea, many folks here are old school MW/CBT players.

so many kids keep asking for this clan mech or that one or something from later on in the timeline(almost every other thread). faq/gameinfo from devs as well as much of the promo info directly states the date. 3048-49. pre-invasion of test tube wackos.

I'm not. I'm here to kick mech butt and chew bubble gum.

I read some in sama. I've listened to some of the old novels on tape.
There are so many versions its pointless until the game come out.
And then, I'll be too busy scrapping your mechs to read history.

One question I have in relation to this is where the devs have said that our game is going to follow, in real time, along with the timeline of the lore. I'm not trying to be argumentative.. I'm just curious where it was said and whether it's just more speculation that this will be the case. I'm quite happy for the game to remain in and around 3049 for longer than 1 real-time year.. if clans come it will change the game dramatically.. it will become a different game almost.. if you know what I mean.

Give me a few minutes and I'll find it for you bud. I'll edit and add a link.

Q. What year is MechWarrior® Online™ taking place?

A. MechWarrior® Online™ is running an offset timeline of the BattleTech® Universe. As of this writing it is 2011 and the year is 3048 within the game. In 2012, when the game is launched, it will be 3049.

Under the FAQ in the top right.

Doesnt show that its day by day, but look at the announcements and see that each day in 3049 corresponds with that date in 2012
