Hi all,
I've recently picked up the Kitfox. Being the OmniMech that it is, I could not resist the urge to slap on some extremely silly loadouts in the name of glorious hilarity (UAC20 DakkaFox anyone?). But when time comes to actually get some pilot skills in to get that second mech module slot, I've run into a bit of a snag.
I dislike LRM boating. I really do. It's boring, and on top of that it is unreliable in pug matches. So I thought, SRMs got buffed - so why not SRM spam?
And so far it has exceeded my expectations; a SRM light that's capable of tearing apart a JagerMech in one or two good volleys.
I've settled on the KFX-Prime chassis as a base (+10% torso yaw speed on top of the common quirks of the other KFX chassis bases), using the KFX-D arms (the only missile arms, with SRM spread reduction quirks), and the KFX-D side torsi (for additional arm yaw and pitch speed; better responsivity in aiming). KFX-S legs for JJs, to compensate for the generally poor mobility of the KFX.
My question now is: how many SRMs should be packed onto the KFX? To Artemis, or not to Artemis, that is another question? Maybe someone that has used the KFX SRM bomber more often can answer this for me.
The builds I've tested so far:
KFX-PRIME SRM 4x4
KFX-PRIME SRM 2x4
KFX-PRIME ASRM4x4
KFX-PRIME ASRM6x4 (no JJs)

I don't have kitfox, but I ran my splatcat today with 6srm4s artemis, it was fun 2-3 shotting direwhales and any other mechs.
On kitfox I would got with 4srm4s no artemis. With quirks, that would not have much spread and extra heatsink is much better.

Yeah. Went with the 4x SRM4 (no artemis), and it worked wonders. 800 damage on an unbasic'd KFX-prime on HPG.
I think I might stick to this.

The thing is all splatfox' builds are worse than any sensible splatadder build. But yeah you can make them work, but at an unarguable disadvantage.

Splatfox works for me. But you better have someone on your team distracting your target a little.

SRM24 Kitfox is great but niche.
You need patience.
You need terrain to cover you.
I have pulled some crazy matches in those, but that was back before quirks.

SplatFox is a good use of the KFX, but the Adder or Jenner-IIC can do it better.
