It occurs to me that one of the biggest reasons that flamers are viewed as a bad weapon and therefore rarely used is that the effects of this weapon are very difficult to see.

Therefore I propose that a new module be created to address this.

This "Thermal Sensor" will display the heat value of whichever mech is currently targeted giving the player a much more tangible representation of what a flamer is actually doing to their target.

Alternately this feature could also be incorporated into thermal vision although that would make it much less useful on hot maps such as caustic valley and Terra therma.

Did you know PGI didnt want flamer to work as intended ? You heat more using flamer then your target, you cannot overheat enemy mech that way (personnaly tested with 12 flamer nova). Flamer are an anti infantry weapon and PGI want it to stay that way. To bad there no infantry yet. ...

While i will partially agree with you (flamers should be able to overheat targets) in table top rules flamers had a heat load of 3 while only raising their targets heat by 2 so that part is at least accurate.

I would suggest put thermal status to the new computer screens on the mech ^^

Its ok they do more heat on you, if you could do on them, cool down enough...
but its not ok, when you cannot overheat someone with that.
