So just wondering as i haven't seen it mentioned here if we use funds from the founders pack in the beta to make in game purchases i.e a new mech will those items be carried to release or will our funds be reset to base/founders pack at release of the game?

Just currious as to how the devs plan to run that.... if it's been mentioned can someone link me to it?

Simple answer:

You don't get any Founder's benefits during the beta. They are not given to you until the Injection date (August 7th at the moment), after which there will be no more resets.

This is not correct.
Aug. 7 is still part of the closed beta, and i have seen a dev post stating they will do resets after that point.
You will have access to your founder perks, but occasionally they will be reset.

Oh? Can you link me to that? I have not seen that post myself, and I'm curious to read it.

Incorrect... there will be no more resets after Aug 7th.

You will not find dev post stating otherwise.

Not letting your funds go through to release would be horribly unfair and obviously will not happen.

In other news. FIRST POST.

If they do end up having to reset the progress after the 7th, then I bet they will refund all the MC you may have spent. They're not going to let your money fall in a black hole.

My Goodness all this talk of "yes there will be rests after Aug 7th," and "No there won;t Be resets!" just makes me think of this:

Quote

P.A. SYSTEM (female v.o.)
The white zone is for immediate loading
and unloading of passengers only. There is
no stopping in the red zone.

P.A. SYSTEM (male v.o.)
The red zone is for immediate loading and
unloading of passengers. There is no
stopping in the white zone.

P.A. SYSTEM (female v.o.)
No. The white zone is for loading and
unloading, and there is no stopping in the
red zone.

P.A. SYSTEM (male v.o.)
The red zone has always been for loading
and unloading, and there is never stopping
in a white zone.

P.A. SYSTEM (female v.o.)
Don't tell me which zone is for stopping
and which zone is for loading.

P.A. SYSTEM (male v.o.)
Listen, Betty. Don't start up with your
white zone **** again!

P.A. SYSTEM (female v.o.)
There's just no stopping in the white
zone.

P.A. SYSTEM (male v.o.)
Christ, you're as bad as your mother!

P.A. SYSTEM (female v.o.)
Oh, really, Vernon! Why pretend? We both
know perfectly well what it is you're
talking about. You want me to have an
abortion.

P.A. SYSTEM (male v.o.)
It's really the only sensible thing to do.
If it's done properly, therapeutically,
there's no danger involved.

P.A. SYSTEM (female v.o.)
Have you considered that what's inside me
is a human being; that it's alive. We made
love. It's us -- you and me.

P.A. SYSTER (male v.o.)
That isn't true. A fetus at this stage is
not a human being, nor is it a person.

So, the White Zone is for loading and Unloading of passengers, and please, no stopping in the Red Zone!

For one, standard retail ALPHA/BETA definitions do not apply to online F2P games. The game will always be in development, which means, new features and content will roll out frequently. We have not announced hard dates for Open Beta or Release. Our goal has always been to hit Open Beta before the end of summer.

Founder's:
  • On August 7th, Founder's early access will begin and still considered part of the Closed Beta period.
  • Player's will have access to all of their Founder's perks and rewards.
  • -->These rewards will be reset from time-to-time during until Open Beta. (new)<--
  • When MWO goes Open Beta, all Founder's perks and rewards will be reset to 100% for the final time.
  • Once in Open Beta, your premium account bonuses will begin, and any MC used will be permanently spent.
Release (TBD):
  • Game is stable.
  • New features are grouped into more formal releases.
  • New content is added on a regular basis.
  • Unrestricted public access.
  • Ongoing tuning and minor bug fixing.
Open Beta (TBD):
  • Game is 95% stable.
  • The core game is done.
  • Ancillary features are done.
  • New features are still being added.
  • New content is added on a regular basis.
  • Throttled public access.
  • Data is no longer reset.
  • Balance and tuning are still happening regularly in response to scaling up the user base.
  • Some bugs.
Closed Beta (March-TBD):
  • Game is 80% stable.
  • The core game is done.
  • Ancillary features are done.
  • New features still being added.
  • New content is added on a regular basis.
  • Access by invitation only.
  • Player's will be able to purchase MC with real currency. All purchases are tracked and will be credited to a player's account when Open Beta starts. Example: If you purchase 5,000 MC during Closed Beta, your account will be credited with 5,000 MC once Open Beta begins.
  • Data is reset regularly.
  • Balance and tuning are extensive and regular.
  • Lots of bugs.

There, i was right :D

AIRPLANE!

Edit:

So just keep in mind, August 7th is NOT open beta, unless they say so, which means zip lips.

Do you mind posting a direct link to your information? I have searched all post by Bryan Ekman and cannot find a post from him stating that All Founders will be given their package on the 7th of August, but then will be reset at open beta?

This sounds like wrong information to me, and I have another thread http://mwomercs.com/...ch-a-short-faq/ by Faenwulf that contradicts what your quoting.

The way I understand is this:
On August 7th- All Pre-Orders get their packages, and no server wipe will occur after the inception.

I'm glad to hear that we can test in closed beta on August 7th without using real cash. Although I'm not sure you should have posted anything from the Beta forums to the public forums...
