Oh no, my absurdly overbuffed mech got some quirks nerfed a little bit, how awful.

This sort of crap is why the mech re-balance has been a huge waste of time, should've known PGI was lying out their *** when they more or less said they would do more than the least amount of actual work possible to placate the whale masses.

I did not play the Pts but I think, based on the results, people must have played a lot of the popular Mechs and little of the dumpster ones.

BJ was famous before Pts so people play the heck outta it, it gets major modifications, Vindy was unloved, it got little.
Awesome is another unpopular one, seems they got modded more for LRM/SRM builds than anything expect the 8Q and 9M, those two I still cannot figure out what happened.

People have complained about the Stormcrow.

1X, so what? Even with these nerfs, dang thing has 8 Laser hardpoints on a 45 ton frame, 6 in high mounts, other Dec. 1 changes made it more mobile and beefier. It was comp before the Dec. 1 changes, will probably still be comp now, there is no nerf into the ground here.

Ever drive a Vindicator?

Why do people keep saying it's more mobile? It isn't. It's slower in a straight line and, when you include the skill tree nerf, it doesn't turn any better than it used to. It still has a gimpy torso-twist compared to the BJ-1 and BJ-3 and even the Storm Crow.

I've seen some people saying it accelerates like it has MASC. Those people either don't play with MASC often enough, or they need to pass the joint, because the BJ-1X does not even come close to having the same start-stop agility as a Shadow Cat.

No I haven't because it is so slow. I should.

Yes, you should. Actually, pre-Dec. 1 the BJ-1DC was actually a fairly close performer to the BJ-1X. It runs fast enough to keep up with the bulk Clan 'Mechs, had great energy quirks, and the smaller engine meant bigger guns. The current BJ-3 operates under the same concept, but even better now. And the BJ-1DC? Even better still, since it gets more reach than either the BJ-1X or the BJ-3. That's 365 meters for a Medium Laser, and you can bring six. Or you can bring two Large Lasers at 608 meters with four mediums and still keep it cold.

It's gross and awesome. Suck it, Storm Crows!

The obvious answer is that PGI intended ghost range + ghost doritos + ghost heat to be the holy trinity that would bring balance to the force.

Ghost heat is working as intended. Ghost range was rejected by the players and, as a result, abandoned by PGI. Ghost doritos is still in the works, probably implemented in early 2016.

To bring balance, Paul is still looking at spreadsheets, trying to figure out how to replace ghost range. They're probably considering ghost cooldown, ghost duration and ghost speed. Maybe ghost turning rate and ghost actuators.

TL;DR: When the players rejected the whole optimal laser range thingy, it kind of ruined PGI's plans. They haven't really figured out where to go from here.

We already have Ghost Speed - it's called Speed Tweak. Likewise Ghost Cooldown (Fast Fire). :P

Yesterday I got killed twice in a Blackjack - and my team lost one of the matches.

I considered reporting a bug to tech support.
