Mech Waiting Online?

With all due respect to game developers...
We are waiting for the selection of the enemy, waiting mode games and maps, waiting for loading maps, waiting for the players ready, waiting for landing, systems waiting, engines waiting, weapons waiting ....

So much time is spent waiting. Do I wait so long? Is it possible to reduce the waiting time?

Well you can take a lighter mech and that will reduce your waiting by about 85%

This. I pilot lights exclusively, and my waiting times are never above 2 minutes. It's one reason why I don't touch my direwhale too often now.

Are playing PUG NA matches? My wait times since last patch is under 30 seconds and I'm playing heavies on 70% heavy queue. I even made a thread about it.

Load times on the other hand is in every game you play.
GTA Online has a 50/50 play/wait time distribution.

You talk only about the waiting time of searching the match. And I say also about the rest waiting for - you select, loading maps, animations DropShip, pending the availability of players waiting for test all components mech. Those seconds add up to minutes, and minutes into hours ... and it saddens me

Try getting a CW match when there have been 0 players on all planets for the last couple of hours. During Oceanic prime time, no less.

Yup; entirely gave up on Tukayyid after 3 ghost drops in a row. Guess noone's playing it

You were forced to wait at least 2 minutes in most MW4:Mercs automated servers. It's not like it was several games back in the MW franchise, and things changed later. It was the previous title.

The event hasn't started yet, that might have something to do with it.

You realize it won't actually start for another 7 hours right? As for waits, I had no problems on NA playing assaults all night.

yeah Ive been corrected like 8 times now lol

didnt know you had a choice to servers in CW

as thats what I was talking about with the ghost drop thing. I didnt know that was an issue in non CW O.o

I do agree that there is a lot of waiting with the start of game lobby and map/mode selection timers and in a perfect world everyone would have a solid computer and internet connection so we wouldn't need those timers, but unfortunately many players run games on computers that are the equivalent of a potato and PGI (as well as many of us) feel its important to go that extra step and wait 1minute to give them a chance to load in and start the game at the same time as those of us with beast PCs.

Op didn't specify CW. Just the one server there. Haven't dropped in CW since the last Tukayyid event myself.

i played my first 2 CW matches last night and wait times were comparable to what i get in puglandia, so i can't really complain, will see what tonight is like.
BTW my first match was a WTF is going on affair, seals willingly queuing up to be slaughtered!, absolutely bizarre.

Well you can speed up loading times by not playing MWo on a potato.

Upgrade to a server board with quad 8-core 3.5 ghz processors, 128 gigs of ram, SSD, about 3 grand worth of SLI video cards and you'll drop the loading down to about 2 seconds.

Still takes minutes at times to save a change in your mech configuration when you have 100+ mechs. That's all back-end server work, doesn't matter how fast your computer or Internet connection are; you are waiting for the back-end database sync.
