Had they kept the old drop tonnage, there is a chance IS would have had an advantage, but they could keep the decks they have been building and practicing with. Or there is an equal chance the Clans would still have an advantage even though smaller than before the patch.

Now, we have the Clans with a fairly minor nerf, along with the IS top performers getting a nerf (TDRs and STK), and then the IS gets a drop deck tonnage nerf too.


For the last year? Hasn't the IS drop tonnage jumped around between 240 and 260 since then?

Someone's been drinking the kool-aid.

Clan mechs have been and always will be superior to IS mechs up until the Jihad/Dark Age. Period. End of Story. At that point any mech could equip any tech, Clan or IS.

The only factor there's ever been to keep Clan mechs in check against IS is the 10v12 rule, which PGI have been unable to resolve in MWO, therefore the Clan mechs have that much more of an advantage over the IS mechs.

The whole point of Tukayyid was that the IS (ComStar), was supposed to have had an overwhelming numerical advantage over the Clans, there was also the arrogance of the Crusader Clans in holding back the Wolf Clan for 3 days... But that's not exactly possible in a game like this.

The point still stands is that the Clans have all the advantages here, despite whatever nerfs they received and whatever buffs the IS received... Until the 10v12 issue is resolved, the Clan vs IS CW will still be a pathetic shadow of what it's supposed to be.

ISvIS CW is fine, always has been.

Wow...just wow...you cry for nerfs to one side but you won't accept one for your own even when your mechs got significant buffs.

You know what? I'd rather PGI take away those quirks buffs and give you back your 10 tons extra instead.

That excuse has been deemed invalid the moment Clan trial mechs were introduced. Newbies can jump onto Clan trials and join the CW side just as easily as IS side. So shush.

Seriously, I broke out my Clan Mechs for this CW event and was surprised at how useless they seemed. They're sluggish, take way too long to shoot with the duration of their lasers and their autocannons, run too hot, etc. I was trying to kill a BJ and it was tanking everything I put into it. We had four Clan Mechs shooting into it while it torso twisted to shield. It lost every component it had except for the Head, CT, and one leg. Everything was cherry red and it was still taking damage and not going down.

Compared to my Timby, I step out around the corner and fire a LPL and instantly lose half my Mech. I'm really disappointed with my Clan Mechs now; have been since I bought them and every patch just seems to make them more useless. I don't know what to do with my Summoners now. I'm just exasperated by it all. I play almost straight IS, but on the occasion my Unit picks a Clan contract, I dust off my Clan Mechs and dutifully fall in to help with CW. Every time that happens, I just get frustrated with how inferior my Clan Mechs are. There's not a single Clan Mech that I fear when piloting my IS Mechs, but there are plenty of IS Mechs I fear when piloting my Clan Mechs.

i am forced to play clan right now but honest i have had it tough going nail biters every game i mean the guys iam faceing dont give an inch without takeing lots of us out for it i am haveing a blast. just wish i was on the inner sphere side so i can play my enforcers.

For the purposes of this version of Tukayyid, there's a more obvious answer, and there's a conspiratorial answer.

The only issue I have with the current trials is that it lacks an 80 ton or smaller meta trial to complete a drop deck. The Dire won't fit. A trial Ebon Jaguar or Hellbringer will round it off nicely for new players or PGI can troll them with a Meta Gargoyle/Summoner.

It's been my experience and everyone else I know that clanners have better players, including pugs, on average. Clanners are more likely to work together as a team. IS is more like a bunch of solo players doing their own thing with terrible builds.

Generally speaking of course.... this has summed up most of my experience and I've played a lot of matches in both IS and Clan.

I've also noticed that good players do just as well if not better when they play inner sphere compared to clan.

The only people that think clan mechs are superior are terrible IS players, and there are a lot of them.
