the clan factions total combined faction score(20174) is +/- 34% higher than the IS factions total combined score (13382)...

so if understand this right this must mean that the average score of a clanner in cw match is 34% higher then the average score of a IS player...

so ore PGI screwed up there score table, ore the ballance still is not what it should be...

CW stats like these are pretty meaningless when it comes to general observations about balance, I think. Good teams are so overwhelmingly powerful, they could probably beat the Inner Sphere if they were all dropping in Ice Ferrets.

No, the majority of IS pugs were actually good, almost impressively so - considering the usual state of CW. A lot of strong mechs and mostly usefull loadouts, very little LRM usage, many players going for classics like TDR's, stalker and firestarter, but also many marauders and jagermechs. Also lots of aggressive pushes, which was a nice change and is quite viable now. Even some guys bringing their atlas and actually doing damage.

Name the top good teams that have an IS contract.. vs the top good teams that have a Clan contact.

That will ultimately be the deciding factor.

The hidden reason is another matter altogether.

I believe the score is based on wins and losses not match score. So I think every player who gets a win gets +1 point for their faction. If so, it would suggest that Clans have won 2/3rds of the matches. The only reason the planet is so close to 50/50 is because of all the counter-attacks being played.

A coordinated group using mechs and load outs appropriate to the CW map they are dropping on has an overwhelming advantage over an uncoordinated group of random players.

The event is the way it is because PGI made it that way.

I wonder how much it has to do with the cw maps playing to clans strong points. Maybe add a few more close range maps you see the IS score increase.

that would assume that Clan PUGs either don't exist or are markedly better....neither of which seems valid.

MS and 228 are Wolf
BMMU is Ghost Bear
KCom is Jade Falcon

You need any more explanation?

Really, the best way to explain the stats would be to take an average group size from each game of each side.

If we knew that the average IS group size was 2 and the average clan group size was 10, or vice versa, then we could put some meaning into the overall score numbers. But only PGI has that information.

Well, the result would vary greatly on the MM as well...which doesn't exist (in CW)

isPUG VS CLAMPUG? Well...that's a fustercluck either way.

isGroup VS CLAMPUG? Group would generally win (if semi competent, not 3 AC20 Urbies sort of thing)

isPUG VS ClamGroup? Group would generally win

I've also heard that since score is based on game mode, it favours attackers (as it was at Tuk1?), but I haven't paid attention to the details.

Not really.... I was in a PUG group vs ta 12 man from the 228 lastnight... We got stopped hard, on counter attack... Still I did bag their Omega canon.... Pirate's Bane ECM MLas Sniper for the win!

IS could bring the Zeus 9S and other chassis quirked for range. IS needs a different mech for different situation which is a pain on the back end of things, but I would not call that an issue on the front end between the factions, only an issue of picking the right chassis.

There are a number of games I have played where we were outranged by the IS. "Well, you brought the wrong stuff!" Yeah that's my point :T bring the right stuff. It works both ways.

is that even matchscore? i thought this is wins/pilot gives a +1 to this, so all in all it just shows well, who wins.

This does work and I agree but most IS pilots I know don't have a drop deck made for range fighting. Most will have maybe 1 sniper. It can be done but people don't do it and I think that's one reason we see the lower IS score.

Did you have the kill lead?
If not destroying omega is pointless in counter attack.
You know that right?

But otherwise thx for supporting my point.

Yeah, all the teams that treat the game like a job more than a game.

My unit and I dropped once on Tukayyid last night, 12 of us vs an assortment of guys from 3 teams and some absolute random PUGs.

We got face-rolled. We killed less than 10 of their mechs and they wasted all 48 of ours at stupidly long ranges.

As far as I know, the unit I play with has sworn off CW because of how much it favors the Clans still.

The ISvIS side of CW is the only part that is any degree of fun and balanced.

sry you don't need to make MWO "your job" to get a bit mapknowledge, when you got long range outplayed you just played wrong. nearly all maps offer areas to close to the opponent. And some IS mechs can be as effective at range as clanners.
