Clan trials are amazing. Started playing again 2 days ago, decided F the IS queue and went clan for tukkayid. Wow, just wow. Trial timber and stormcrow are absolutely amazing. Between those 2 and my adder I felt pretty confident and knew I made the right choice vs taking my ctf-3dc. My thoughts were basically wow so this is what it feels like to pilot a REAL heavy, versus the jm6 or ctf. Only thing I missed was my wvk-6k, but that's a different playstyle than stormcrow. Adder's not ideal but with the heat gen buff it felt solid as a mid-range fire support, if not as strong as say a ach or fs9.
It hurts my brain that people would say they were perfectly balanced back before nerfs. People are just that stupid.

you really still live on that illusion? Did you eve had a look at the available trials? Since trials aren't stock mechs anymore this is just not true. Only the "light" category is a bit questionably bad in choice since clanners have a SCH and the IS not an FS9.

And clan pugs gets stomped by any decent team just like IS pugs, it's just that there are more pugs on the IS side.

No play both sides and both pugs you will see the difference, and ther eis a message behind this which we already preahc to the is pugs since uhmm, EVER? yet they se mot to understand (or willingly ignore) their own faults. So when directly talking to them doesn't works we just try to use other forms of communication to hope they ill unerstand how it works. I just feel sorry for all those IS houses really doing a good job getting hardly rewarded by the pugs ruining most of their effort just with
do not care, flame and ignorance stances. Yes some clanpugs are like this, but for soem reason they are a minorirty while IS has a majority of them.

But occasionally you get one or two that actually know how to play and take benefit from being placed on a team with an organized group.
Basically it highlights the need to separate the two.

Why the focus on IS PUGs? I've been playing the Tukayyid event as an IS pugger, and most clanner teams I see are PUGs too. And in those PUG vs. PUG games I've had the my (IS) side win most times. Not a huge sample I admit, but the clan PUGgers sure don't strike me as a master race by comparison.
Why the focus on trial mechs? Just because someone PUGs doesn't mean he's not running fully tricked out (mastered and moduled) mechs.

play both sides and you may confirm what other palyers havign doen say, its about how pugs organise. and the trial thingy, dunno what it has to do with it at all, I see many broken IS builds not being trials and the worst choices youc an have. yet I also see 2 ac 2 NVA's trying to brawl, LAWL. The is for whatever reason ahs more of these people and if PGI wants balance for CW, they need to to change this. But how you cna change peoples mind? Well you can for once start to set up proper tutorials for people ingame. yet the yonly help inexpirienced poele wanting to lern. not the stubborn horde of iheroWarriors that sink its always the others fault to lose. YOu will not see this behavior as much in the clanpugs, they usualyl don't flame eahc other they may not win vs is well organsied teams, yet they do not get scrapped that hard, because they listen and act togther in like 90% of the time.

I took a look at the trials. And Clan side still has better trial mechs, thanks to trial Cheetah, trial Crow, and trial Timbie--optimized to the laservomit meta. Skill-wise, Clan pugs are the same as IS pugs. You are basically making yourself look dumb, by dissing on IS pugs only.

Keep it up, clowns. Keep on posting stupid, egotistical, and utterly useless threads bashing everyone else - and then whine and blame PGI for low player count and people who don't stick around after the Steam launch. Some people would rather see this game fail just so they can feel proud and mouth off "I told you so!" vs, seeing it succeed. Unreal.

Sorry, but no. These forums are full of epeen-strokers who honestly think that bashing PUG's, casuals, and everyone else makes them cool or is somehow proper and good for the game. If I had a mech for every post I've seen created by some twit who thinks that they are "special" because they play the game mostly in a big group and thus have "earned the right" to bad-mouth new players, casuals, and PUG's, I'd have every mech in the game that currently or ever will exist. It's getting old, and things like the CW events only bring out this stupid and destructive behavior on a larger scale. So, no - it's not funny, and it's honestly bad for a game like this which has limited appeal and a small, niche target audience.

Would have been somewhat humorous if he was talking about pugs in general. Instead OP went with faction bashing, like a six year old. So if your intention is for me to laugh at OP, then I can do that right away. Hahaha.

I was specifically referring to the trial mechs available to the puggers. Clan trials are simply better in general--especially to those who tend to tumble around in the open (lose an ST? no problem, you will live!) or do not know how to lead a shot (your mech only has lazors, so point and click!).

for the game to succeed people need to understand it and play it correctly. It's liek a football/soccer player missing the goal 3x blaming the goal being to small, and quitting football forever. If you want the game to succeed you need those people thinking something is wrong realise that they are wrong. If they would be willing to understand this and imporve thy would start to have fun and things start to succeed for both, these players AND the game. But the current influx of "bad gamers" across many games in the past 10 years is just astounishing. It's not an MWO exclusive thing. But how do you reach a person being rather ignorant and refusing any attemps to educate them? I don't know at this point, we tried to explain them, we tried to even show them, and against all this they refuse thmselves from any imporvements.
Ok, there are palyers just that bad. a buddy of me is one of these players. But there I ONE BIG difference ebtween him and the mainstream baddies. He knows he is bad and does not blame the system, the game and the others for this. But those who constantly seek the mistakes they make in reasons by the others? WHAT IS IT? How can we make these people change? or do you really want to change this game to be playable for them? Then we truly soon have a pointless arena of COD like shooter. because those games do cater the mianstream mass of the new gamer generation. or do we just have to accept this impenetrable wall of ignorance and deal with it and how it negatively affects the game? Is that mankinds future? man think about it. It's nto about feeling or being better it's about common sense which feels getting more and more abundand. The fact that you think this is about being proud and selfcatering is just again showing that you think in rather egoistic patterns. It's about us all and the game, but whats the point trying it all to make others better who aren't (process of learning and teaching) when you run into all these little self entitled people not wanting to lern because they think they are better no matter how much they still fail.
The Op was about the two differences in these encounters, where asterix and his rather unorganised bunch of bruteforce superior guys just beat the trash out of the weaker romans. That may happen in MWO if poeple truly outskill their opponents. But this is usually not the case, especially in pugs.
An then you have the spartians as highly trained and organised force vs the masses of trained but not so good opponents.
If you watch what your own team does through pugging you just see similarities between both, given you pay attention to what happens on the battlefield and take yourself 1 or 2 minutes after the match to let sink in what happens and why.
So I just tried to slap these into some kind of funny video comparison visualising this.
Now you may say, but isn't tht on both sides, yes it happens on both sides. (kapusta. made a mirror thread xD). but for some reason the IS houses more of these to a unbalancing degree. And I have no idea how to change this, becaue we just tried evertyhing. And I can definately not blame this purely on the newbies because I see players on IS side playing since 2 years still making these mistakes and ending with flamign in the chat. When you play soloqueue you see this and you can see the faction flag of those players. So yes at this oint you can sort the behavior of thes people to factions.
So when I die in an corner encounter very quickly, which happens sometimes and my team is 2 squares away I am not going to flame my team for not being here. It was then my mistake for not sticking with the team or having not paid attention on a shift of the battlefield making them go to somewhere else.

Just a game dude. I only drop CW these days. Most of my games are stomps vs large IS premades. I've seen the good as well as the extremely bad side of pug vs pug matches as well. I've had great games, I've had games where I played like trash. I can see the humor in this. You seem extremely thinned skinned for a gamer. I also think you really misinterpreted the OP
