The Executioner

I mean people go talking about how OP Timber Wolf is and the Arctic Cheetah and the Dire Whale and Stormcrow and a few other Clan mechs are, but I never see anything about the Executioner.
Is it just too low key, no one ever sees it was what shot them or something? I mean, the thing can straight 1v1 a Dire Whale face to face and win now a days, especially after it was buffed.
It has so much going for it, do people not like it just because it can't spam loads of heavy ballistics like the dire, or maybe its just the 12 tons of locked masc and JJs which still are useful pretty often?
I'm just curious, I just haven't seen anyone talk about it in quite awhile.

If that is the case, you can still get some nice builds to work, like 2xERLL, 6xERSL, 2xLRM10 or the usual 2xLPL, 6xERML
People who complain that it can't carry enough weapons don't understand the idea of this Mech.
It's the same as saying a DWF sucks because it cannot scout well.

It would be a decent mech, if at least a couple of its JJs were unlocked. Those 8 tons are everything that stands between the EXE and viablility.

Lazor boating is the name of the game when it comes to the EXE, so if you're not a fan of vomit, look elsewhere, The agility buffs it got in the recent patch help heaps and it's tanky as hell. Usual practice is to load one of its arms with ERMLs/SLs/SPLs and corner poke with that arm while loading bigger lazers in its torsos for range poking and ridge-humping. It's not a mata-defining chassis, but it's solid in many regards and is worth getting into IMO.

4 MPLs and a c-uac20 also does very well.
Its the best assault poker made. Any poke build can do well with it.

Where does it get the MASC? Is that a recessive trait?

It's a big assault seen as easy prey by lights. Inevitably they would go after it for that reason, and inevitably I'd have an improved UAV popped, Advanced Seismic and was just -itching- for a Cheetah or Firestarter to come close. Suffice to say, it succeeded in farming. Didn't really use the Chassis for other builds in the end much beyond some goof around and trolly ones for some decompression and fun. Having Masc to reverse fast or turn fast really helps in that area as well.
Is it a top tier uber-mech like the Unholy 6 (ACH, SCR, EBJ, TBR, HBR, DWF)? Nah. Can it still be very effective? Yup, it's definitely not Gargoyle level, but it -does- take a lot of fiddling to find a build you'll enjoy with it. I like my variety. No regrets owning it.

At least give them 2x JJ quirks.

And nobody missed a mech to fill this niche - nevertheless, the Executioner does this job perfectly.
It's huge, it got loads of podspace occupied by MASC and JJ - therefore not enough room for true ballistic loadouts. And Laservomit gets hot.
So you got a highly mobile Laservomit-poke-mech - a TBR is more mobile, more agile, way les bulky, and not at all worse in the offensive department.
And as a swift assault brawler - that niche is where the Gargoyle is waiting for someone to play with him.
In short: the Exe is not bad. But there is no real reason why you should use him.

It's somewhat undergunned for an assault, especially a Clan assault, but not as severely as the Gargles. It's got MASC and JJs for mobility boosts, which can be helpful, but I think the reason it isn't more popular is because it sacrifices too much for that mobility, which is often the case for assault class mechs.
I'd rate it slightly under the Warhawk overall, even though I do like it. I have a feeling the Highlander IIc will pretty much eclipse it one way or the other, but we'll see.

The mech decent build ideas. Having high energy mounts in the side torso or ballistic mounts in the side torsos. The next issue I see is that the arms are so low for a mech that stands so tall. This making judging shooting angels from the arm weapon mounts difficult and can cause issues with team damage or clipping terrain.

It is, however, most definitely not a top of the line meta mech.. I use it mostly for fun drops or to ******** around on cold maps like Boreal or Grim a bit.
8 med pulse build is hilarious, however. You can one-shot most light mechs with it if you get a good bead on one, and pretty much everything else if you get it in the back. It's mobility allows you to get to weird places people wouldn't expect a 95 ton mech to be, which is where the biggest advantage of it lies.

Someone mentioned unlocking the JJs. Maybe that would help. Making the jump jets generate legitimate lift would also be useful.
