I dont post very often, but I had a really good time during this event so I wanted to share my positive impressions.
I do not belong to a unit. I usually only have a limited time to play so I typically solo drop in the public queue. Lots of fun, after several years I still am not tired of it.
This weekend I saw the Tukayid 2 event and frankly I wanted some of the rewards. Since I do not always do terribad in the solo queue I decided to drop nothing but CW this weekend. I read lots of posts about how hard it was to solo drop CW, but I wanted to give it a go anyway. I really enjoyed my experience.
I played IS because... well I often roleplay (by myself... kinda like masterbation really) that I am a Davion loyalist. I do have some clan mechs in my mechbays, but I paint them in the pirate scheme and every time I drop I tell myself, "I killed a clanner and stole this mech..."
- The queue times were acceptable for IS solo queing CW. I waited longer than I usually do in the solo drops. It was noticable, but acceptable. I realize the Queue was more crowded than usual because of the event, but I had a good time for sure.
- Fighting the Clans was difficult! Wow! I cannot say that it was fun to be curb stomped, but the roleplayer in me kept thinking... "yep, this was what the invasion was like". I think when we started IS had 240 tonnes, then sometime on Saturday we upped to 250 tonnes. I kept thinking "yep, the IS logistics would route more assets and then continue bringing way more tonnes to the fight after the initial invasion". After the drop deck increase I saw more winning matches.
- Solo Queue I ususally ended up with mostly other PUG players, sometimes with a group of 5 or more from a single unit. I had some great games! I would say that I had about a 60/40 split of losses/wins. All my losses (except for 1) were against premades. All of my wins were against clan PUGS.
