1 your from the UK so that tells me you will probably play fair

2 the bad guys know you're bringing LRM's

First recommendation is get Jman to switch sides but not for the reason most people think

This is ridiculous. There are enough counters for lrms that IF you know that you will be facing lrms...you can counter.

The test is how LRM v standard meta mechs would perform. I did not see that in the rules, maybe I overlooked it.

Drakken? I thought it was Drakon. This might be why I was having such issue finding him, it's been so long. Do you remember when Drakken went merc? That was the period that I was top 10. The roster did rotate a lot as people came and left, but it was drakken who hand taught me how to play, though just like here, I listened only enough to develop my own style. And no, not Davion. They were a difficult bunch to help, I was Archon of Steiner. Sarge_Scatter and much later, destructobot if it helps. It must have been 2002-2004 from your time line, as I don't recognise Kai, and it was during a period of time post 2000, when I had moved to the city for the first time in my life.

I started off as a total noob, running 3 phawks and a griffin lol, but it wasn't long til I found a placing in the top 100. Drakken was a very good teacher. Akhorahil taught me as well, but less diligently.

Just going to re-read this and address the concerns in this thread.

Well it's a HELL of a long time ago, I'll ask my housemate about the timing of it. He was my right hand when I was Archon after drakon went merc, and eventually left. Which was a sad day.

I remember Jaireko, but not Kai, I must have my dates slightly off. brb, game on.

It makes me think it was 2004 tho as I have no idea what my ELO ACTUALLY was, only rank, and that Drakon was out of the scene at the time, I basically had to fill his shoes in the Steiner scene. Strangely by his request and a very large vote. I didn't consider myself capable of it, but we can back from 2nd last place to first, THEN we were pipped at the end by Liao who hired EVER merc against us :-/ damn money bags But that's campaign play, it was a world of fun.

Do you remember an ostscout with a pilot name "Low Wang" by any chance?
