This is on Windows 10. Before the latest patch of Raptr (which was around the same time as the last MWO patch) I was able to keep it open while playing Mechwarrior Online to record gameplay. Now, it crashes MWO almost immediately after it starts up. If I exit Raptr, MWO starts up just fine.

I tried uninstalling the Crimson drivers for my Radeon HD 7970, and rolling back to the pre-Crimson catalyst drivers, same problem. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall Raptr after that, still same problem.

Just a quick update, I found out that the game is not actually crashing. I can still hear the noise of the intro videos starting up, but the graphics are frozen on the first screen that shows as soon as the record function of Raptr comes in.

But wait, it gets better. If I skip past those intro videos and type in my password to the game (blindly, since I can't see the prompt) and press enter, it then loads into the game and no more problems. So it seems to be just an issue with whatever is going on in that intro piece of MWO.

AMD Gaming Evolved has been doing it to other games too and it is a known issue. To my knowledge the beta drivers fixed that as well as the flickering. If not, uninstall Gaming Evolved first and then run the Repair Tool to reset all your game settings. That will fix the intro issue. It is NOT affected by rolling back drivers.

If you want to keep Raptr though (since I tested it with the regular version with the same issues prevalent), you can just close Raptr/GE first and then open it after MWO is open without any further issues that session. Posted Image

Disabling the Raptr overlay alone also worked for me, but I wasn't using it for more than the FPS counter.

I just found out about this Gaming Evolved issue after a lengthy conversation with PGI support after I was suddenly unable to start up MWO on my desktop computer. I have now uninstalled Gaming Evolved, and MWO has gone back to normal. No big loss, I never used it for anything, so to me it was only bloatware anyway - nice to get a reminder that I should get rid of it! Posted Image

I had the same problem (HD 7970) with the screen locking up at load. I installed older drivers, which didn't fix it I then installed the beta drivers that got me past the login but I still couldn't record video. I then ran repair tool and it fixed some settings by the looks of it and it all works fine now.
