Just curious to see how many of my fellow forum dwellers are investing in the top tier packs for all 4 unseen mech. Marauder, Warhammer, Rifleman and Archer. For the Collector's Edition pack + Hero mechs, you're getting 5 mechs per chassis (2 of which have a 30% C-bill bonus) with 4 different chassis, for a total of 20 mechs (or 16 unique mechs). The total price is $55 * 4 = 220 dollars. ($13.75 per unique mech)

For the sake of comparison (since I'm an instigator), the Wave 1 Masakari pack provided a total of 3 mechs per chassis, with 8 different chassis. 24 unique mechs for a total of 240 dollars. No hero mechs tho. ($10.00 per unique mech)

Inner Sphere mech packs are usually cheaper. It was $80 for the Mauler pack with 4 variants of 4 different chassis. A total of 16 unique mechs. No hero mechs. ($5 per unique mech)

Since there are so many Unseen mechs left to release, I'm kind of curious to see how long this trend will continue. PGI has said that the high price is to cover potential legal fees in the event of a lawsuit.

I suppose it all depends on the success of their new business model. Maybe this was a one-off thing for the first wave of Unseen, and then the next Unseen mech pack with be a standard deal with 4 mechs for 80 dollars, like Resistance 1 & 2.

Not me.

IMO, the game, in it´s current state is worth 30$ and that is what I spend.
If PGI wants more of my money, they have to improve the game.

Honestly I probably will.. sad but yeah. Decent price for a mech if you look at dollars, get some nice swag with it as well.

I am. I've been hoping for these since I started playing and I'm glad to have them.
I find the $55 a good deal when you get in on the early adopter rewards. I also sell the superfluous Non-(S) chassis for extra CBills.

These four are what I've been jonesing for. The rest, not so much. I'll probably pony up for the Crusader and Longbow, but, the Phoenix Hawk doesn't really do much for me. The Ost-mechs certainly don't either.

Let's look at it this way.

Full packs (hero+special+base)
220 US$

No hero (special + base)
160 US$

Base (base)
80$

Base+ (base + hero)
140$

Short answer to question?
No, not buying all of 'em.

Rifleman not even interesting for me anyways and the archer looks okay.

Not I good sir.

I don't like to wait in the heavy queue so heavy mechs are less attractive to me.

im skipping the rifleman, but im getting the other three. I especially love the archer/gladiator, but i wish they had melee attacks in the game since they are well suited to melee combat after their LRMs are gone.

Well I am, and I am Pokemech collector. Gotta have them all. I'll skip on the lights though. My ping is not good enough to play with them without occasional warping.

Still expensive for me. I am only interested in buying the Archer separately.

I got full Marauder because of impulse, was a tad smarter with Warhammer and went Basic + Hero and then just basic for Rifleman, and to be frank I got the Rifleman at the last minute because of pre-order bonuses and the realization I would likely cave eventually.

Probably going just basic again unless the Hero Mech wows me.

I'm skipping the Rifleman (the Jagermech is essentially the same but better), and I won't be grabbing a P-Hawk, Stinger, Wasp, Crusader, etc. Really, the Warhammer, Marauder, and Archer were the ones I was waiting for, so they are the ones I'll be getting.

Maybe a Marauder II when the time comes...

Classics Top Tier = All. But I'd pay cash money for a Flea pack, so my opinion is totally suspect.

In all honesty i don't get why people are still forking money over. But that's me i guess. Different standards, different values.

I find the prices insane.

220 dollars is a lot of money and some people have invested over a grand.

Not to mention your impending retirement...

For me in life, I try to base things off of time spent to pay for it versus time spent enjoying it. I earn $20 an hour. If they entertain me for an hour then its well spent. I know most of these mechs will entertain me for hours. I know the Marauders already have.

I'm not spending any more on this game. Functionally it is improving but the game modes are all basically the same and CW is very lacking.

"MWO will never be about go here, cap this" Yeeeeeah, right.

I have no interest in the Archer.

I have no nostalgic attachment to it, and not really into the overall design.

Australian dollar is worth peanuts right now, so that's stopping me from buying stuff more than anything.

Personally? I was thinking about the Marauder and Warhammer, but examining the Marauder's weapon mounts made me decide against the MAD. The Hammer basically has a better configuration, and the Orion satisfies my LRM boat needs for a 75 tonner. About the only thing a MAD has functionality advantage over is jump jets, which is not quite sufficient. I am not keen on the energy vomit meta that seems to be so prevalent these days... not for three chassis.

A Hammer has better diversity of loadouts (Twin AC20 Warhammer anyone? Plus laser vomit and missile vomit), and the Black Widow hero has an entertaining loadout.

A Rifleman is to me DOA. I can't get 60 tonners to work properly, to me they are just too slow and too poorly protected. And the Jager can carry AC40s, I don't think the Rifleman can.. so become even more problematic, because it has to stick outside there too long.

Archer, I have to wait to see its loadout. I have a good missile boat in the Orion right now, so the Archer has to offer me something significant to swap to a lighter chassis. Maybe for CW, but I don't play CW, and missiles in CW is very hit and miss.
