Why is the HGN's crest depicted with a cross with two roses?
I don't think the Jenner's comes from anything specific... But I believe it is referring to a messenger of death. Death will come on swift wings indeed!
Boom Box is pretty self explainatory, plus, the Hunchie kind of resembles a boom box with stereo speakers.
Orion, the hunter, like the constellation.
The cross and roses is for the Highlander Burial. Highlanders proved so effective at Death From Above, that they had their legs specially reinforced so they could do it even better, and this became known as the Highlander Burial. A 90 ton mech jumping on your head burries you in the ground This is also where the Undertaker name came from.
I will not be aurprised if they get some backlash on the cross, though... It might get changed to a generic tombstone... I guess that all depends on the diversity of the community.

Ah, that makes sense! But the constellation is kinda unrelated to the Mech.... And I thought the HGN Burial was popular only on IS HGNs.

The constellation/mythical figure is the mech's namesake o.o
You're probably right. The Clans abhor melee combat amongst mechs. But it's still awesome, so I'm not complaining

Well the orginal Highlanders where SLDF royal mechs meaning only SLDF members from planets around Terra, not SLDF great house units. After a while the highlander was upgraded and the 732s where given out ot non royal units, while the Royals got the upgrade 732bs alot of them orginal mechs left with the exodus hence the upgrades to IICs.

Huh. That. Kind of works to balance it against the Oxide, I guess? If it's bigger overall, but moves at around the same speed.

It's possible. They might see the swarms of Origins mechs as a pay to win thing, rather than a huge number of players mastering up their new rides upon release. Hopefully they aren't over-quirked, as I don't think many of them will need big quirks to be successful. The pre-order bonus variants especially have some nasty hard point numbers.
At least there will be new mechs in every class, so we might not see 60%+ more lining up heavy queue like we have now with the Marauder

My wallet remains closed for now no matter how much I want the shinies.
PGI fix the game, give us a balanced working CW, and I will gladly spend more.
