Heartfelt Thanks To Pgi...

We all know that there is still lots to do and, with a highly critical forum community, I believe there could be a sense of negativity out there right now!
With that in mind, I want to voice my appreciation and congratulations to every member of the PGI team for the everyday victories you all achieve!
Without your hard work, we wouldn't have this great, modern incarnation of the MechWarrior Franchise. I know you work hard so that we can have fun!
I believe I speak for many of the community when I say: "We salute you! Keep up the good work!"
Happy Holidays to you all!

If this was a free mod on the other hand, that would be in order.

That is far from the case. Just because someone is paid for a service does not preclude the giving of gratitude for it, nor does it indicate that the only reason one does something is for the money.
If you feel the way you do, I assume you never thank your server when you go to a nice meal at a restaurant or the driver if you take the bus...

I'm sorry that you have so little gratitude for the work that others do. It's a terrible way to live.

Y ?
Merit deserved is merit freely given by me, no problem .
Problem here is, no merit deserved, since minimally viable product with a very apparent, permanently left open exit route for quick saving of earnings .

I didn't agree with many of the changes that they wanted to make in the PTS session and I voiced my opinion (along with many other) and was heard.
But I won't discount the work that went into it.
Not every person at PGI is a decision maker. Those that aren't still work hard to make the game function. Those are the people I'm thanking!
Even the decision makers seem to me to be trying. The whole IW thing was a valiant attempt at new mechanics and a new system.
It got a lot of blowback, but it still took work! And I still appreciate it.

Without MWO, maybe I'll play vidya games no more which is kinda sad after two decades of intensive gaming.

What a sad attack on people for wanting to make a living by pursuing what they are passionate about, which, incidentally, isn't making a new variation on Candy Crush but a completely free-to-play game. I enjoy playing the game and I enjoy paying a bit of cash from time to time. Keep it up PGI!

I got the feeling a long time ago that they were doing more of a "profitable" endeavour .
And looking at what they did so far and where they started I have to say: there is modding teams out there that are better .
I cannot deny that they "try" .

You know what, I get heartfelt thanks from people who I do paid work for every week. It is very nice.
So are you the guy who doesn't bother tipping in restaurants even if the server does a good job or doesn't say thank you to the guy doing your oil change or replacing your windshield? That's the same thing.
No, it's not required. But it is basic human decency

I personally have been playing only 3 months or so, but outside an MMO guild night once a week elsewhere, this is all I play. Love it. I don't get the negativity people. I mean, if you hate the game that much that all you can do is vent and slam on the forums, um... why are you still here? Apparently there are far better Mech sims out there so what's holding you here? hhmmm?
Personally, I love what they have done with the game. It entertains me endlessly, and I *hate* shooter games and never play them... but this just is different and brings back my younger days playing BT tabletop. Are there warts and issues? Sure, but most games have something wrong. *shrugs* So I'll just sit back, give props to PGI for what we have so far, crack a beer and crack some mech heads. I prefer to be happy and enjoy a gg than sitting around bitc**g all the time about what "could be".

After a few years being completely out of touch with MWO, I am incredibly glad I am back, and it seems it's for good. Solid game, having plenty of fun.

Now if the meta would change from peekaboo snipe fests (b.o.r.i.n.g.) to brawling / mid range knife fights that would be amazing.

Something to ponder
Can't imagine that the entire team have Battletech wallpaper in their living rooms but I think they do nicely as a small development company. As Praehotec8 and cSand already pointed out: you can even say thank-you to people who do a paid service to you. I enjoy that too when I throw a report at a client.
(Note: I find the entire Battletech storyline intensely boring and derivative myself and fall asleep every time I try to read up... so...)

The negativity are mostly confined to a few vocal minority, the steam reviews seem to quite clearly indicate that
Obviously the game is not perfect but we know its being worked on and thats good enough.
