Now I'm average, bang in the middle of t3 and have been there since psr came out.
Yesterday played about 16 games,2 wins. I was in the team with the blanks contstantly. Some games where close but most where steamrolls.Psr is still steadily going up tho.
This has been the pattern for the last wee while.
Getting put off as getting beat almost every game just ain't fun.
Yup I'm having a moan but can't really see a way out of the slump.
It's like mm is taking the piss out of me,seeing how many losses I can take before I quit.Oh its him again have a big helping off LOSS.I've been playing the Bounty Hunter mech which is meant to be good 2 wins 14 losses in it lol.
Time for a break maybe?

Honeslty this just sounds like the timeless issue here in MWO of leveling a unskilled mech among the sea of mastered chassis in your tier.
Every time i jump into a new mech i have this issue, its half the reason i joined a unit. " carry me guys while i skill up this Sadder!" Loss streaks happen to though and i have had 10 or 12 big fat L's in a row before. I usually take it as not my night, log out and find another past time.

Time for a break. Also, take screenshots of the end game matches. It will help you to understand just how much you or your mates have contributed to the loss. And the BH, while a decent mech, might not be for you.

Now imagine you are a noob and you download and installed the game for the first time?
Go out with a trail mech after making the noob chose of the first mech to try?
Well they login more the once, twice and how many more if they get trounced in 12 to 0 games?
Even with the training academy (Which was a long time comimg).

I play solo. Most games I give a good account of myself but some like last night I was just crap, making mistakes and just not giving a **** after the 10th loss lol.
I think you may be right about the BH.I just don't like it,I prefer the 3 ballistic Marauder variant which I do much better in.I feel that the Marauder is getting found out now, players know how to deal with them now whereas last week they didn't.Thats my theory anyway.
Thanks for the reply btw.

In my experience the outcomes of matches are highly volatile.
For example:
The first 4 matches on tukkayid (100% Pugs) I played, I had 4 victories. Even stomping a 12x12DG team.
The last 3 matches before the deadline, I had 3 losses.
I have evenings where I get one quickplay loss after the after, doubting myself.
Then again, I (co-)win one match after the other, top score half the time, no sweat.
The reason is: it's very volatile. One wrong turn from the whole team, one bad decision, one lucky headshot and BAM, stomp.
If you want to determine a trend, take 100 matches. Better 1000 matches. 16 matches is a far too small sample size for statistical significance.

My 75 ton mech is the Orion in which I use 3 LL and an AC 10 with AMS, standard engine, extreme front loaded armor.(ac 10 and LL have nearly the same range which is just a bonus because they work well together for heat and dps.) That's after spending 20 or 30 mill or more on different XL engines, load outs and mods. I do well every match with it and even on the galaxy map.
Next mouse sensitivity and key bindings are key, as well knowing a mechs performance by instinct. I use a few mechs all of which keep the same load outs once I find something that works.
Also. Don't build a mech for all ranges and eventualities. My dual ac 20 on chain King Crab is a brawler which cannot be argued with in brawl range. 2 LL for some range and extra dps up close. I cross open ground in my King Crab like its the last thing I do. I make sure if I'm going down its to a target within range and hes going down with me.

One of my ravens is a sniper that cannot be argued with at range.
etc.
Then just make sure your mech dictates the situation.
I got one weak mech at the moment and that's the Commando which is a light hunter and does ok at that mostly.

first 6 games - 11 players played run away from the reds/wtf is my minimap
next 2 games - I decided to defend the base in assault, they moderately improved when they realized they had one less person to shield them
next 2 was back to the same - "lets just get rolled over play", lance of assaults plus me with ecm - find a lone adder, assaults stop dead in their tracks while I take down the adder and push on.
last match was the best one - went to defend the base, intercepted and killed two before being caught up with by the charging party.
overall my opinion is - the balance is better but the players are somehow continually getting worse at the game.

Ultimately, while I still don't like the game balance, because I still think it caters to much to noob stomping (I think they should get rid of the skill tree completely or make a branching tree where each option has a benefit and drawback), the fact that the general population is improving is a good thing. I just have to redefine my view of what a good game is. I shouldn't expect to pull 700 damage consistently in a light. Now, 450 is pretty decent, and average is closer to 250 for a mech I am proficient with.

Maybe its cause ppl formerly wrongly assigned to t5 and t4 now get slowly out of the bottom of the puglandia barrel and start getting to t3 and you simply where wrongly assingened to t3 cause of stats data ?
I realy get the feeling lots of ppl that are actualy pretty good players where wrongly assingened to low tiers cause they did some mechleveling in the times that where used for statistical data to create their tier asignment.

I also try to engage asap in a match. Putting one of the other team down first is a good way to make sure your team is heading for a win.
All of this depends on mech speed, experience, pure luck, etc. of course.
This is why game balance is so important. Both my replies are worthless if some over powered invincible mech can ruins every ones day.
Balance isn't perfect but I look forward to trying the Marauder and I'm sure it is a good mech with current balance and maybe even better with some future balancing. I'm looking directly at the no weight no space clan CASE by the way.

Screenshots, yes, mosdef.. I don't play THAT much that my tier is going to move up soon (Slowly it ticks upwards but at BEST I get dozen or few dozen games in a week, enough of a time sink and I actually do have to work days:)
But it is quite illuminating how you are progressing, especially this "tier is an xp bar" thrown freely about (I'd imagine I'm going to level off at tier 2, unless it actually is an xp bar:) so some personal facts might actually be interesting icing on the cake.
Oh, store you game/mech statistics as well.
And on some nights, after a streak of losses, I figure out that something is off and just do something else. Nothing is as bad as trying to tryhard a win, when it simply isn't there because of lunar cycle or whatever.
Early t3 was the weirdest, I had absurd weirdly positive w/l ratio for significant number of games (I think 1.8 at best or something like it) tho now law of averages caught up and it is much more near to 1.

G'nome Sayin!?!
...But yea, it has become harder since the matchmaker has improved in putting people together with similar skill. It isn't perfect by a long shot, but it is doing it's job better. Now there aren't as many lesser players in the match to take out as easily, so things are a bit more difficult.

That's right. Law of averages will always catch up. It is inevitable part of puglife. Live by the MM, die by the MM. Only thing one can do is to decide how much effort he is gonna put to tip the scales his way.
