Gonna be interesting to see how much population will alter - and server performance

I hope PGI has hired some more hamsters to power them.

Russ was just talking on twitter about how they added servers for this.

Nice,

but I think this game needs an official Forum.

Agreed. Sad state of communication by PGI, they don't learn.

It's really weird. They've said that they don't look at the forums because there is too much negativity. Well I know that it's not all rainbows and sunshine on these forums, they are far from the most toxic i've seen... maybe the least. Additionally, and I'm really not trying to be mean here but, grow up. Not doing something because you are afraid people might disagree with you or say mean things to you are attributes of a 9 year old. they really need a presence on these walls, even if they just hire someone else to do it.

Russ should be community manager for like 2 weeks for APB relaoded with some ingame activities. He will lick and kiss this Forum with joy after this and soak in this athmosphere like a drug addicted junkey.

I agree. They screwed up a long time ago, earned the hostility and now instead of manning up and taking their lumpsfor awhile until they slowly build credibility and repair things, they seemingly ignore and avoid the forums.

Sure, it will be rough, but they need to stick it out and establish a decent presence and reputation on their own forums. Be good if they could avoid tripping themselves up as much as possible too. And,....yes.....it will take TIME.

Just a different way to download/log into game. the standalone client will still work fine for you if you don't use steam at all.

You wont get a new server because you switch to STEAM, PGI ADDED servers to handle the extra load FROM Steam.

At this point there is no reason to switch your client to STEAM, no Trading cards, no Steam unique achievements, no nothing worth while yet.

I have to agree. These forums compared to a lot of other game forums are rather calm, but even when they are not being particularly friendly actual communication on a regular basis beyond 140 character sound bites goes a long way in curbing the negativity. When the devs do a great job of giving the impression they don't care why should we?

Dashia Steam is for more exposure and more potential players. You do not have to have Steam to play. The regular client will still log in just fine.

So it is basically for acquiring new players. Lucky for me I am currently tier 3 So I get to club baby seals I mean welcome new players. Yay!

I fear the server(s) will go up in smoke. They already seem to be stressed on weekends.
