Ebon Jaguar is a bit fragile, however, and that is one thing one must be careful with when piloting one.
Ideal for Community Warfare, with it being 65 tons with 28-29 tons of pod space to boot.
I love it as well, but only for CW, other than that I'd use another mech, it just feels to fragile, but I'm glad you're enjoying it.

I've used it in MM pretty much exclusively, but other than that I have to agree. It seems like a couple of giant leg hit boxes attached to a giant CT hitbox. But I love the variety of loadouts you can put on it, and it's fun if you can stay below the other team's radar.
I find it best if you use long ranged weapons and basically skirmish and poke whenever possible. I wouldn't recommend getting in brawler range until mid or late game, otherwise your armor will be stripped in a flash and you'll be cored and/or legged not to long after.

Yeah, for CW I go in with the 1st ebon a gauss, a small laser and 2 large pulse for sniper. An easy 900-1400 damage and 6 kills just from poking with its nicely placed torso mounts, then I go in with a streakcrow, then a Dual UAC/10 and 4 small laser ebon jaguar, and then finally a cheetah or a laser vomit mech.

And it stays that way pretty much up to the point where you try to Torso twist, the thing is literally all CT and leg, just like Kitfox, just like the Adder.
Even when you crank it like a madman, then you'll get rear torso clipped as well as CT cored
Paper tiger, but its a nice ride and carries a crapload of punchback.

Oh yes and the add on guns make the EBJ almost as tall as the tbolt and are a huge "SHOOT ME" sign.

See, at least when I have the gun hitboxes on the torsos people aim there instead of punching me in the nose to kill my CT. Rather be crippled than dead in a mech.

It doesn't seem to have a lot of internal structure. My Catapults are immortal by comparison. And it's quite easy to get damage aimed at the CT or arms, going to the legs...which is not always a good thing. I remember instances where I made a bad move and got pummeled by LRMS, only to have most damage go to a leg and destroy it.
It does have a couple of nasty brawler builds but I prefer to keep it off the front line.

To me the Ebon Jaguar is basically a Clan Catapult. It has a similar design (with the soft CT), it is the same tonnage, similar speed and mobility, and can mount similar loadouts. About the only big difference is the arms are down low (vs the Cat's up high), but even then, the EBJ's main weapons are always mounted high anyway.
Like the Catapult, i'd treat it more as a direct fire support mech. There is the rather obvious 2 PPC/Gauss build (all high mount). I run mine the sleezy laser vomit way (2 LPLasers, 6 ERSLasers). I've even seen LRM variants.
Overall I like it, and I think it is a solid fun heavy.
