The Long Tom Artillery Piece is 30 tons & 30 critical spaces - it will not fit on any 'Mech.
The Long Tom Artillery Cannon is 20 tons & 15 critical spaces, and is IS-only - it will not fit on any 'Mech without crit-splitting being implemented, and there is no Clan-spec counterpart.

So, there will be no Long Tom Daishi for those dirty, dirty Clanners... Posted Image

Not true.

In Dark Age you have the Loki Mk 2. The Alt Config. B is armed with a Long Tom Cannon. http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Loki_Mk_II

Oh, and the Clans have artillery too. Like the Naga. http://www.sarna.net...Naga_(OmniMech)

Does nobody read PGI's Command Chair posts? The Long Tom is supposed to be AI controlled and available in CW only for planetary defenders.

Sheesh, c'mon you guys! Do your homework before you jump to conclusions and start griefing!

The Dark Age Era has MixTech designs like that as rather common.

And the Loki Mk.II B still needs crit-splitting to work, as the Long Tom is split between the Left Torso and the Left Arm.

MWO takes place at a point where MixTech is virtually unheard-of (and PGI isn't allowing players to build MixTech units) & MWO does not allow crit-splitting, so no 'Mech in MWO (including the Daishi) would be able to mount a Long Tom (until such time that the MixTech & crit-splitting rules for MWO change) if it were to be implemented.

can't wait for the Dires sporting the dual ULongToms. People will begin to embrace LRMs and Gauss again with great love. Out-range the dual ULT Dires!

clans dont use long toms its IS only.

This is also the reason why Clanners cannot use Arty. :3

they can use arty, they just use arrow IV instead of longtom

clans never had the need to develop something like the longtom because their arrow IV is way superior

long tom is 20 tons and 15 crits... clan arrow IV is only 12 tons and 12 crits.

Pray tell, what post actually suggests this?

Most people are drawing their conclusions from the stuff teased in this video....

I got major deja vu watching this...and not the good kind. But it does show a little teaser screen of the Long Tom or GROUND ARTILLERY being OPENED up with successful scouting completed in CW 4v4 modes.

I know, but that's not an actual Command Chair post (as previously claimed).

I get the feeling it may be done improperly (it looks like some sort of tactical nuke, but I need numbers and actual play before making a final determination on how powerful that weapon is).

My bad, it wasn't Command Chair, it was Townhall.

Still though, I mean, c'mon. Does nobody keep up with the game news? Between the Chair posts, the Townhalls, and the Vlogs, PGI does a pretty decent job of keeping us informed if anyone is willing to make half of an effort to actually read/watch the stuff.

For those interested, here's the notes from the Townhall that covered the Long Tom:
