See title. How was it?
Were you able to move your pilot's head with it and look around in the cockpit while fighting?
Did you have a chance to see what kind of pc hardware the game was running on?
Was it smooth?

(please don't discuss anything else than the rift support here)

Good

I suffer from motion sickness in first person shooters - the cockpit frame in a simulator allows me to focus on that and not get sick - I was worried about the occulus rift.

My experience (I also discuss some technical issues with the developers)

a) it was on canyon network
B) no mechs to shoot at - just movement
c) the system was set to standard vision

1) no motion sickness
2) clear and clean
3) was running at >40fps
4) it was not a low end system - the specs on OR are just high no matter what
5) could look to left while jumping and moving arms right (full up/down/left/right)

Issues discussed with developers
1) on the test rig they were sending the signal at 1080 but the OR was displaying it at 720 (but it was still clear)
2) HUD - while i did not notice it in testing the developers said they had an issue with the HUD (partial redesign - internal - might be needed) - when I went back I could see what they ment - not possible to explain in text
3) I personally think they need to have certain data on the HUD rather than on the screens
4) The OR is not yet out so no time frames
5) discussion about - just how many people were really going to be using OR (none of us knew)

I've got TrackIR for DCS and sometimes forget to turn it off when I load up MWO. My problem is that the HUD follows where you are looking, so you may have a mech in front of you, targetted, and if you free look to the side, you will lose lock because the target goes out of view when you turn your head. I'd prefer a fixed HUD, but understand the whole neurohelmet thing and why they did it. I just don't like it. 360 target retention can fix this issue, but I don't want to have to run a module every time I run TrackIR. It's also an issue with aiming - very difficult to figure out arm/torso weapons aim when doing free look. Overall, I just think it's easier to run standard mouse/keyboard setup, but it is pretty fun to run joystick and TrackIR from a piloting perspective.

I have a DK2, is there a way I can run HMD MWO?

I'll not only use the Rift, but also a full Hotas setup with pedals for torso twist AND some buttkickers for more immersion. thats the original plan since I saw the founders program lol

Well i hope that they get 3d vision fixed... hud elements are out of depth (like red enemy box)...

If you switch off hud and run 3d vision it is an absolute sight to behold....

Cockpit glass at some point was also causing issues in 3d vision surround

Some people have made some really cool cockpit setups. I've got the HOTAS and pedals. At some point I might switch over to them because it will make the game a bit more interesting. It's a serious disadvantage, but seems well worth it in terms of fun.
