I mean she occasionally posts this and that piece of fluff, but when she came on as Community Manager almost a year ago she promised some level of interaction with the community. I think not taking the microphone when offered by Russ at the recent event pretty much sums up the willingness and effort to interact.

Post after post complain about not getting response from PGI. And most seem to want to go to Russ. Shouldn't we go through Tina and shouldn't she be some sort of advocate for us at PGI?

And what does she think of the recent changes and announced changes? And does she care about our feedback?

What is your opinion?

At this point, it's not so much about the individual, I think. And I'm not saying this because I'm trying to get in her pants (seriously tho, Tina, add me on Facebook) I'm just saying we've been through like half a dozen community managers by now, and nobody knows what the hell any of them did most of the time.

So the question is: what is PGI assigning these community managers to do? Are they answering support mail and complaints, to cut down on costs? Are they even working full time, or is it like a 20% position?

I'm gonna don the white armour and say: What did PGI ask Tina to do?

Every post a PGI staff member puts up whether in a new thread or in response to something generates more posts with people asking more questions most of which are not even related, which if answered generates more posts, which generates more...

My guess part of her job is to read most of the nonsense in these forums and report back to give an overview of what is celebrated and what creates the most QQ so the devs can look at it and see if they need to review recent changes.

Just because you cannot see what she does doesn't mean she does nothing. PGI are a business I highly doubt they pay Tina to twiddle her thumbs.

Tina actually posting is counter productive as everything she writes will be misconstrued or create QQ due to other people's special request for information not being answered as well.

Well I don't know exactly what her job description is in Pgi terms. She's responded to several of my messages but I haven't seen much posting in general disc. or anything.

I remember Bioware's community manager was super active on the forums, especially during the ME3 ending debacle (which still brings a bit of disappointment for me). I know Bioware is relatively active on their forums but I thought she'd be posting more regularly.

Maybe she's just supposed to monitor the forums, see what we players are saying & tell Russ, etc?

On the grounds that she still has a job I would suggest "whatever it is the PGI have told her to do"

Community Manager is a fairly broad term, so unless we have her job description (which will be wrong, as they inevitably change) we don't really know what she is supposed to be doing. For all we know she could have spent the last 12 months focusing on the reporting system (which is a community tool), logging all the player feedback (which is community feedback), and working with CW (as it's a community game mode). Which isn't to say she is (I have no clue of her day to day work life), just that it could be.

It's also worth remembering that half the time games have "A Really Great Idea ™" that they then decide to ditch they announce the idea but don't announce the ditch, so everything she said she was going to do she might have had pulled at the 11th hour because of reasons.

Community Managing for PGI must be the easiest job in the world.

You do not know the inner workings of PGI or said employees duties and tasks. Steam launch is down to PGI management, ya know Russ, Paul aaaaand, dare I say it, Bryan. Not not the (no offense) but underlings.

Tina has no say over what the developers, her employers, chose to respond to.

I fail to see how this is relevant.

Legitimate post.

White Knight post.

Insult post.

This thread can now be closed, i've covered every possible contingency that'll happen here. Besides, everyone knows twitter is the one true forum for communication from/with the devs rather than the actual game forum!

Twitter is used by Russ as a marketing tool. I only tweet when I wish to signal things to Russ I like in the hopes that will steer him towards more things I like.

He is not going to respond to the majority of Twitter whining as it would be counter productive from a marketing standpoint to alert people to the problem and also if the President of the company responds it gives it legitimacy.

I reckon Tina was the one in charge of all the streamers and youtubers doing sponsored MWO videos and giving out codes as well as other behind the scenes work. You can be sure she's doing something even if you don't directly see her work or the results of her work.

I do however wish she would be a bit more active on the forums and do more little forum events like she used to.

Also she's cute as a button so theres that. Posted Image

I suppose her job is whatever PGI tells her to do.

I believe she is currently trying to teach Russ how to say decals.

Well, I suspect that they are not paying her enough to deal with these forums and some of the crud which gets posted. I couldn't imagine what type of messages people post to her either...

Cheers Eboli.

Lol if that Microphone thing is true then that is Hilarious. I would of thought she would run the mic all night at the party, who was that anyway?

Hah, man, I always get in trouble making jokes like this. It's like my whole "argument validation index" thread. Some people legit wanted me to get permabanned for being condescending to lower tier players.

Irony on the internet just doesn't fly. Posted Image
