I dont understand how it will works if i want to play for example a Hunchback 4SP instead of my founders prime variant.
Will i have to buy a whole new mech without the c-Bill bonus ,which will also take one slot of my "garage"-space ?

Yep. The Variant is not the Prime. The Founders Mech is a Prime Variant, and will forever have it's 25% C-Bill bonus. However, you WILL be able to modify the Prime Variant. It is just that each Variant will have a different set of Hard-points, so that may be more like the play style you would rather have. But you are not required to purchase a new Variant, as it isn't any better, just more like the type you want to play.

But (there is always a but), you will still want to buy and play a variant, because you need to complete the skill list for all variants of a chassis before you unlock the elite skills for that chassis.

Is there a link to the post that says this? I'm just curious if that is how it works.

it isnt. in WoT you grind through tanks you don't want and cant use effectively to get to tanks you want. In WoT you have to grind on tanks in matches where u cant damage the top half of the enemy team. In MWO you can always shoot anyone and you aren't driving a mech to unlock another mech. In MWO yes you will have to drive multiple variants of a mech to get to later skill trees, but you don't have to play a stock tank tier 6 or tier 7 in a match full of tier 8-10. Thats a world of difference.
