Question: If you leave a unit that is still in contract with a faction, do you retain that contract when you leave?

No, and it still costs you c-bills to leave the unit if they have an active contract.

The hell are you talking about, Palor?

To answer the original question: Yes you do keep the contract your unit had! Lets say your unit had 10 days on a Jade Falcon contract left by the time you leave then you can freely (with no cost!) leave the unit but you will have the same 10 days of Jade Falcon contract as a solo player. Now once you are out of the unit you can break the contract if you want. This should cost about 50k C-Bills for every day left on the contract, not counting the last 3 days. If you pay the money you are left with a 3 day contract. Those last 3 days are kindof like a cancellation period like you might have when you quit your apartment or job.
