Well, might as well get the Rage and do some sweet Enforcer act......*sees Archer now available*
Whelp......so much for that.
Honestly though, considering this comes out in March if PGI screws up CW3 or otherwise does something that makes me want to stop playing is there any chance of getting a refund before this goes live?

I would expect all the unseen to be re-seen, here in mwo.
Frankly, most of the unseen are some of the most popular mechs, so this would be a good move for PGI. I gotta say though, the artists really outdo themselves, breathing new life into each mech design. I wanna know if they have plans to do the Wasp. I wonder if they'll give it the SRM-2 hardpoint in the left leg. That would be freaking awesome.

I've never thought of this game as Pay2Win. Ever. Having said that, the Tempest IS Pay2Win lol. Anybody w/ MC would be dead stoopid not to purchase it.
Not really. It will be ok, but crotch level cockpit is going to suck, as are probably knuckle dragging arms that contain all your firepower. Its got ECM, sure.. but not P2W. P2W means "if i buy this im going to win way more than if i don't" not "if i buy this i will have something slightly different, but not as good as free options"
Im certainly not buying it.

Can someone give me a reason to get this? Why does it have only missiles and there's 4 of them that are the same. Sigh.

It even has almost the same looking missile pods, but with covers.. the only difference is that its not a chicken walker..
It even has a very similar loadout..
And oh, yeah.. the "hero" variant is also ECM capable..
When are the clans gonna get an ECM capable hero mad dog?
Feel a bit unappreciated as a clanner...
EDIT
Actually, at 70 tons, its something between a Mad Dog and a Timberwolf.. ok.. got it.

I still wonder about the missile bays and how it loos like when completely opened, because at the shown angle, it won't work.

That said, I don't like the design choice to put the cockpit so low in the belly. whilst it follows the later TRO's and unseen artworks by lore - the original archer had the head above the torso.
In MWO game terms, the low cockpit will make it difficult to peek a ridge with those high mount energy hard points and either fire on an enemy or tag it for the missiles. To less experienced pilots I'm sure it'll make the 'mech seem like less of a knuckle dragger firing the arm lasers, but a pilot more comfortable with their 'mechs dimensions might prefer the option of less exposure.
The side torso 'mech bay doors also give me pause. The half second firing delays were added to detract from missile 'mechs such as "Splat cats" and Stalkers boating SRMs and encourage them back to their traditional LRM roles at a time, years ago, when SRMs were OP - this got eventually tracked down to a bug with SRMS dealing AOE damage to more than one component at once especially on smaller, closer together hit boxes. Whilst the SRMs were fixed and went out of fashion for long time, the bay door firing delays were never retroactively addressed. Newer mechs, like the mad dog/vulture don't have them.
Whilst artistically, I love any additional animations or articulation added to any mech - a 0.5 second firing delays could severely detract from any attempt to make an energy & SRM brawler out of an archer variant.

Weapons in the legs are moved to the side torso in MWO (see Cicada), which makes a lot of sense.

We already have alot of LRm spamming mechs, we don't need more
(catapult, I'm looking at you)

there are a lot of options and most have 4-6 energy 2 chest and 1-2 in each arm one is all missiles.

Perhaps it is a "bad idea" from some sort of meta-warrior perspective. But for the rest of us, we might think it a "good idea" because it might be fun, a good idea 'cuz it looks cool, a good idea 'cuz it is unseen, a good idea 'cuz it has a variant where the SRM spam will be breathtaking (who cares if it is given LRM quirks!), a good idea because some folks just like LRMs regardless of the criticisms, etc.
I actually agree with you in that I can't imagine playing it very often (maybe in CW on a boreal defense 2nd wave), but who knows? With all of the different reasons people play this game and with all the different play styles, I can see why a lot of folks will think this mech or at least one of the variants is a very good idea indeed.

I don't have a problem with the mech itself, it's just that the Clans already have over a dozen LRM carriers and the IS has so many that it make me worried
the only Clan LRM carrier I like is the Vulture/Mad Dog and the Mad Cat/Timber Wolf
