Still no change, and its been 3 years since public release
2 years since this post
1 year since my patience ran out

Basically can PGI please focus on actually making the game function properly on our normal gaming PCs before anything else? Would be greatly appreciated...!

They've done it already, there was a nice 10-15 fps jump a while back. Honestly it sounds more like you need to upgrade your computer. Don't start with the "I don't want to build a $1000+ computer" mine is maybe $800 and is running max graphics at above 60 fps. It could be something as simple as, if the rest of your components won't bottleneck it, upgrading your graphics card alone. I only run an i5 3.4GHz myself but I spent the extra money to upgrade my GTX 660 from when I first built the computer to a GTX 970. The game isn't really all that CPU intensive, its mostly low end graphics cards that kill people's FPS in this game.

You don't have to build these ridiculous $1500 gaming rigs to get a good PC. Heck, half the time these rigs have cases that costs $100+, mines a $50 case with good cooling, I even stuck a water cooler on my CPU to OC it when needed.

So pull up your big boy pants and look into upgrading your PC. This isn't LoL or WoW, you need a decent computer to play big boy games.

I have a now 4yr old XPS 8300 (i5-2300, 6GB, 1TB), bought off Dell Outlet for $430. Added GTX 750ti, $110. Running at 1920x1080 on Medium. I get ~50fps everywhere. Don't need to spend a fortune to get this game running smooth at all.

Just ran the numbers on my machine.

Test scenario: MAD-BH2 walkthrough killing Atlas, Jenner, Catapult, Cicada, and firing on Commando. Time: 180 seconds. Testing grounds location: Tourmaline. All graphics settings: very high. Hardware: in signature

HUD on: Min - 113, Max - 201, Avg - 154.544
HUD off: Min - 91, Max - 207, Avg - 157.311

As you can see, turning the HUD off on a modern high-end gaming system results in at maximum a 6fps difference, and on average about a 3fps difference. Mileage may vary if you have lesser hardware, and you should strongly consider turning down the following settings: particles, environment, shadows. Less draw calls makes for a happier CPU in a DX11 world.

THE RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS.

I guess I don't understand why it's PGI's responsibility to get their game running on High Settings on every player's computer no matter what hardware they run.

Minimum and Recommended specs have never meant anything more than 'Minimum to technically run the game' and 'Recommended spec for a playable experience'
